Anybody else watching it? I really want to like it but I am really not feeling it.

Shes always had that stilted way of talking in dramas, but then again I tend to do this as well and have people going ' what?' - mine has gotten worse over the years though and i find i then mumble. she was good in Unforgotten and didnt do it as much in that, so maybe its a character thing?

Anyway, yes to ' house porn' the millionaires one is lovely, but very cold and looks more stately home than a real home. Poor woman needs to start fighting and stop drinking the Chablis. Hannah's place is really lovely and that kitchen reminded me of Doctor Fosters one.
i would love a home that size - not too big but big enough and much bigger than my own place.
She is very cold towards her children i think.

So glad that the sister told Cristie to f off - although i have a feeling he will be back and the younger sister is clearly in need of therapy , why is she marrying that bloke? All those lovely dresses and she chose that one? Mother is horrible but so is the dad - in fact, they are all pretty horrible !

oh, i also hated the footballer and his g/f sort of getting divorced before they even get married ( silly woman) and the reference to the children being ' cooked' - made me shudder.
It did liven up a bit at the end though, so i ll stick with it.

Do we know how long Hannah and her husband have been married, it wouldn't surprise me if they make Christie the father of the oldest

I keep thinking her house is so messy!! Surely on that money she'd have a housekeeper/cleaner when working those long hours?

i thought that about a cleaner or housekeeper/ nanny, no sign of any of that and they both are never there. must have had one when the kids were small, unless they are his children and not hers? not been made clear about that has it? at first i thought she might be step mum set up maybe?

i did see on the web that people are ' turning off in droves' and bored with this already and there are 4 more episodes to go. so wont be a follow up then. i think people seem to prefer 3 nights of drama, in a row and all done and dusted really quickly. Our attention spans are not what they once were!

Yes, the father was just awful with all his wanky new age quotes, baby names for the youngest and “fully cooked” shite, and is only after the law firm.

Unrealistic that a divorce lawyer would build up a firm for 30 years in which her ex had a massive stake.

There seemed to be more people involved in drafting that Prenup than the brexit negotiations!
The plot plan seems to be "will they /won't they" ** between Hannah and Hottenbutt, the ongoing divorce between Davey and Goldie plus Case of the Week - the comedian last week, footballer this week. I could do without the weekly case as it means less time for the central drama.

The youngest daughter is odd, she doesnt even seem to like her intended that much - what was that with the wedding dress too?
why would the mum have let him have a stake in the business?

so funny about Brexit, the mum should help out Theresa and co - she wouldnt stand for any nonsense from the EU.

I'm really enjoying it and looking forward to the next episode. Love Meera Syal and think she's a fantastic actress, I've just finished listening to her narrate 'Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows' which was fab too. Hope they don't turn her character into an alcoholic mess, I need her to be okay totallyoverinvested and get what she should in the divorce.

Hannah or Nina was the one who said fully cooked first, but when the father repeated it to the mother I did wonder if it was suppose to be a family phrase.

Completely agree that Hottenbot will be the eldest's Dad. But their relationship just don't feel real. I wouldn't talk to either a workmate or an ex like that, let alone a workmate who was an ex (maybe I've lived too sheltered a life)! And if there's really that much sexual tension between them then surely she wouldn't even have accepted a job there. But there seems to be no affection or respect between them so why would she fuck him? And how are we suppose to sympathise when she does fuck him?

There isnt any tension at all between them is there? She just doesnt want her sister having him when she can't or won't. till next week at least.

I haven't enjoyed a tv drama this much for a while. I wasn't too sure last week but I thought the pace was just right and the balance between the central characters and other storylines was just right. I love Meera Syal. It is a bit funny watching scenes between her and Nicole Walker as I keep remembering NW with Meera's husband in Unforgotten (can't remember his name!)
On the shallow side, love the clothes and make up. Ooh and the property porn!

The houses they use are amazing. Trouble is it makes me realise how poor I am in comparison!

Meera Syal's house was beautiful. I never get the point of wine cellars though. Why not just drink it?! The scene at the end did make me wonder if she actually did have a drink problem.

Yes, she either needs a few MNetters to either help drink and enjoy the wine or help her to seek help with her drinking!
