Anybody else watching it? I really want to like it but I am really not feeling it.

I was wondering about the name too BurningTheToast and can only conclude that the role was written as British but the best fit for the part was a Dutch actor and they didn't bother changing the character's name.

You’ve got to thing the Hannah/Nathan marriage is doomed even if all he did was sign up to that website - the coldness and general lack of sex would’ve worn anyone down re Nathan - as with so many threads on mumsnet, only Hannah would have any idea if that was plausible for him or not that he’d sign up but do nothing.

I noted though that Nathan didn’t issue any denials to Christie when he told him he was on the list.

Willow2017 · 16/05/2018 18:11

He could hardly deny it it was there in black and white and Christie was doing him a favour.

ConferenceBores · 16/05/2018 18:32

More along the lines he didn’t trot out the ‘i only signed up’ like to christie, so as far as Christie knows, he’s cheated on hannah.

papayasareyum · 16/05/2018 18:34

I’m loving it and especially Anthony Head who is just so gorgeous

Strax · 16/05/2018 18:47

I'm enjoying this too, I particularly liked that they cast a woman as the foreign secretary rather than her husband.
Nathan's speech just sounded like the script so often recited on here.
I have a friend who is a partner in a family law firm, she's very glam and 'together' and she and her husband both manage high-powered jobs and children without having a nanny.

TeisanLap · 16/05/2018 19:05

The latest episode was really good.

Willow2017 · 16/05/2018 19:24

especially Anthony Head who is just so gorgeous

and all mine, just saying...Hmm

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 16/05/2018 20:47

Hannah is clearly going to now go running straight into Christie's arms. They'll sleep together, he'll beg her to leave her husband but in the end she'll chose Nathan for the sake of her kids because she's realised the importance of family.

Agreed

The storyline with James and Rose is a bit farcical.
Speaking of completely nonsensical names, I have never met someone of full south Asian origin with such a British name as James Cutler

Maybe Hannah will go back to Defoes when she splits up from Christy & take her client Goldie Mackenzie with her and the billings will boost Dafoes coffers.
This is the second episode where Xander has said to Hannah “ you work for Noble and Hale.

I suspect Oscar spent all his money on surgery in the US, hence being broke and needing money from Dafoes.
I think he has a son with Maya, given Ruth’s comment that when ( grandson) Vinny was born; she sent a photo as boys were important in the family.
I think there are a lot of parallel themes in the show. Eg Davey has a secret son, so maybe Oscar has one too...

ValleyClouds · 17/05/2018 01:05

Still watching, and, enjoying this here's hoping for more.

Hannah and Nathan will face each other on opposite sides of the divorce table. Her Mum will probably represent him.

Defoes will go bust, but Hannah will do something like buy the name so that she keeps the rep and the contacts but freezes the Mum and sister out

Sister has to go work for Christie sniffs out the affair and the fact that eldest DC is his or could be, kneecaps Hannah with it in the divorce table room

Series 2 written, crack on Beeb!

honeybeeq · 17/05/2018 02:24

@ValleyClouds Grin bang on! You called it!

oldmum22 · 17/05/2018 13:11

I loved the most recent episode it was brilliant. SM completely threw us with the storyline, Christie is supposed to be the sleaze bag!! Hannah gave excellent advice to the Foreign Secretary, serve your time and when out of office, discreetly divorce the "spanking" husband. I love the house especially the kitchen but I did think Hannah's bedroom was small even though she had an ensuite, it didn't fit in with the size of the house Looking forward to the love fest next week !!!

EESometimes · 17/05/2018 14:58

Watched first episode and thought Oh No A Pathetic Attempt at British Version of Suits!!!! With a bit of Dr Foster thrown in!

I've changed my mind (a bit). The case-in-the-wardrobe scene where the three sisters are looking at all the cards, letters and presents their Dad sent them over the years had me in tears. It was quite shocking, superbly acted.

jensner · 17/05/2018 16:07

@englishmummyinwales

Hannah and Nathan's house feels so familiar and I'm sure it was the same one that Adrian Lester lived in in the drama (ive already forgotten the name) where he was a surgeon and John Simm blamed him

Now that you've said that, I think it is the same house! (Trauma, wasn't it?)

LRB2017 · 17/05/2018 16:09

I thought the same about the house!! Definitely the one from Trauma.

daffodilbrain · 17/05/2018 20:55

Oh I'm quite liking it. Is the mother Michelle Dottris out of some mothers do 'ave 'em? Oh and I love their clothes was especially Hannah!

Yes. It is. And I was just about to comment on the navy outfit with the patterned blouse she wore the other night when I read your comment on the clothes they all wear.

I’d love to know how they go about dressing them.

AmIthatbloodycold · 17/05/2018 21:17

It's not Michelle Dotrice playing the mother, it's an actor called Deborah Findlay. I agree with a pp that she looks like Mrs Doubtfire. I find her the weakest, love the rest of the cast

Hallamoo · 17/05/2018 21:52

I really liked the burgundy dress that Hannah wore for her 5am start with the foreign secretary - anyone know where it's from???

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 17/05/2018 22:05

It's a crock of shit

DoryNow · 17/05/2018 22:33

Well thank you for that insightful comment MilkyCoffee off you trot & watch something else then! Grin

Japanesejazz · 17/05/2018 22:40

That was very good acting in the final scene. For anyone that has been in a similar situation

TeisanLap · 18/05/2018 05:21

It's a crock of shit

I’m glad you’ve got that off your chest and I hope you feel better for it.

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 18/05/2018 06:59

Sorry! Grin I did try getting into it.

southeastdweller · 18/05/2018 12:11

It's the most clichéd load of nonsense I've seen for a while and yet it's so compulsively watchable. I was cringing last week watching the scene where the daughters found the letters.
