Anybody else watching it? I really want to like it but I am really not feeling it.

Just binge watched 3 episodes on Iplayer. Really liked it.
Its like a British version of Suits.
Loved the houses, not so keen on the clothes - too office like.

Really like the Mackenzie storyline. Meera Syal is excellent.

Not really sure where they are going with this....
I think Hannah will end up sleeping with Christie but realise that she does really love Nathan and go back to her marriage.

Wonder what will happen when the nanny / Oscar's wife Maya arrives on the scene.
Rose will marry James and a lovely wedding will be the final episode, where the married ones all look knowingly at each other whilst the bride & groom say their vows...

Lynmilne65
Wow you worked that out all on your own? Well done.

TeisanLap · 14/05/2018 11:06

It's made up folks, not real ffs

Thank you for telling us.

I’d never have known.

Jux · 14/05/2018 12:34

We're allowed to suspend our disbelief, thanks Lyn; and as the topic we're posting in is labelled Telly Addicts we are also allowed to continue suspending it here, otherwise what's the purpose of the topic do you think?

LARLARLAND · 15/05/2018 22:00

Only caught the last few minutes of this. What was the list all about?

Smellylittleorange · 15/05/2018 22:03

Some dating/escort site was hacked ...

LARLARLAND · 15/05/2018 22:14

Thanks. Were they married at the time?

InkMade · 15/05/2018 22:42

Yes. Christie asked Nathan to tell Hannah instead of Hannah finding out from someone else. He really loves her. I hope they can give it a good go together

AppleYumYum · 15/05/2018 22:46

SM playing not such a nice guy for a change...

I'm really enjoying it, and I'm secretly wiling her on for a romp with Christie - I think he's v sexy!

Queen yes I absolutely loved The Hour, I was devastated when that was cancelled.

AppleYumYum · 15/05/2018 22:48

Do we really think he just clicked on it the website? Or is this the start of the usual cheating script?

Willow2017 · 15/05/2018 22:49

Its getting better 😀
But irl someone would have frogmarched Nina out the room when she went off on one before she hurt every one in the room.

Hannah must be thinking life is out to get her! But despite being an arse Nathan does love her and i hope they work it out. Hell somebody has to in that screwed up family😀

Wonder what the scar is from? I volunteer for a closer look😉

Ilovelblue · 15/05/2018 22:52

Willow I presumed the scar was from a heart operation. My Mum had a similar one after a heart bypass.

Agree that Nina would have been made to shut up.

Smellylittleorange · 15/05/2018 22:53

I presumed scar was from some kind of surgery ..was v sad. Tonights episode was v good lots of unexpected twists and turns

InkMade · 15/05/2018 22:55

Tonight episode was great, looking forward to next week. How many episodes in this series?

Willow2017 · 15/05/2018 23:00

I thought heart surgery as that was the obvious one but you never know with tv😀

Optimist1 · 15/05/2018 23:02

That was the 4th episode of 6 according to Radio Times, Ink.

Vagndidit · 15/05/2018 23:11

Well then... I fear Nathan is absolutely following "the script." Given the extent of her emotion I doubt a simple admission of "I just clicked it, I swear!" was convincing enough for Hannah. She's heard every excuse under the sun from her clients, afterall.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/05/2018 23:15

Hannah is clearly going to now go running straight into Christie's arms. They'll sleep together, he'll beg her to leave her husband but in the end she'll chose Nathan for the sake of her kids because she's realised the importance of family.

Am I right?

Willow2017 · 15/05/2018 23:19

Maybe Nathan is the one bloke in the prog who didnt want to cheat then? Maybe it was just a look cos he was missing her? (Stupid of course and pathetic but maybe he didnt plan to meet anyone)
Not every man in this family/area/work has to be a cheater surely? Bit depressing if they are all untrustworthy.

squidgesquodge · 15/05/2018 23:26

I watched two episodes last night & another two tonight. I think it's brilliant. Yes, the characters are a bit far fetched but I think that there is enough of a range for them to not only make this series interesting but at least a second series too. The life in a law firm stuff is much closer to actual life in a law firm that many other legal shows I've watched. Obviously you can't swan in & out each other's offices but the focus on billing is realistic as is the pulling all nighters and ordering pizza. I love the fact that the junior lawyer is female and has a fairly high profile &, again, fairly realistic role.
I don't think the home life is that unrealistic either. They appear to do the school run themselves & presumably would have some form of nanny/housekeeper (or one of each!) who will do the admin & look after the children. Some of my friends have a similar set up although it's depressingly more common for the wife to give up work. Some friends have more than one nanny as otherwise she was working ludicrous hours.
I think one further twist to come is the mother developing Alzheimer's or similar. At the moment, I think she's just stressed as she lost Hannah who was her no 2 and the firm is clearly in financial difficulties.
I think Hannah, Christie & Hannah's husband were at law school or Uni together as there was a reference to something being like being back at moot court. Of course, Hannah's husband, as a barrister, will have had a different training route to the others as solicitors but I will forgive the producer for overlooking that.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 16/05/2018 00:19

I was beginning to lose interest in this, but tonight's episode was much better. The Case of the Week was more more relevant to the central storyline and didn't feel shoehorned in like previous Cases.

Last week I had thought that Rose and Vicar had overreacted to their near kiss but it hadn't been clear that Rose had groped his cock!

Ruth and Oscar looked very comfortable together sitting in garden together at the end considering their history and break up

Middleoftheroad · 16/05/2018 08:31

Dafoe's is clearly in financial difficulty, which the mother hasn't told the daughters. The dad wants his share, but maybe she's selling up/insolvent?

There's something amiss between the dad and Maya. That will all come out.

I love the actress (claire?) Who played foreign secretary. All I could think though when NW character got up in the early hours to visit her, was how immaculate NW bob looked having been called out in the middle of the night. I'd have serious bed head.

DaffoDeffo · 16/05/2018 08:45

last night's episode was much better - sharper and 'cleaner' in a way and the storyline was really interesting!

englishmummyinwales · 16/05/2018 10:08

I'm thoroughly enjoying this, the setting is a refreshing change from police stations and rural detectives. It's a bit soapy in places but the acting is top notch.

Hannah and Nathan's house feels so familiar and I'm sure it was the same one that Adrian Lester lived in in the drama (ive already forgotten the name) where he was a surgeon and John Simm blamed him for his son dying on the operating table. Different furniture but same layout, front and garden. I don't know why I recognised it, I'm not usually so invested but it's just such a lovely house! I was very worried about Hannah and Nathan leaving the back doors open when they went upstairs for their long overdue night of passion. Probably says a lot about my marriage that I'd have been saying " hang on, let me lock up first. It's a warm evening, anyone could get in."

BurningTheToast · 16/05/2018 10:56

I liked last night's episode and was pleased to see that Christie (who I've always thought was hot but a bit sleazy) was really decent and went to find Nathan and told him to tell Hannah before she heard it elsewhere.

A lot of plotlines to tie up in the last two episodes though!

On the subject of Christie, it was mentioned in episode 1 that he's Dutch and the actor is Dutch but Christie Carmichael is a very non-Dutch name. Dutch neighbour and I were discussing this the other day!
