Escape to the Chateau: DIY

So, is anyone else completely addicted to this?
I loved Dick and Angel’s original series so decided to start watching the series where they help out others who have bought or are in the process of buying chateaux in France.
I’ve watched 8 episodes in 3 days Anyone with me?

Thoughts so far: I love Jonathon and Michael and their absolutely stunning castle. I’ve been willing them on throughout these episodes and have even googled prices to stay at their castle. I hope the show brings lots of bookings their way.

I wasn’t keen on the male half of the first couple featured - the artist guy. I’m intrigued to see how they get on but was astonished that they were able to go so far above their initial budget. I wonder if the termites will be a bigger problem than they have so far envisioned.

The young married couple are lovely and very hard-working, but what were they thinking leaving the loo until the very last minute? Stress city.

The single mum was very impressive in her property development skills but i did think it was very disappointing that she still can’t speak any French even after living there for 5 years - the Mayor asked her to learn some French and she didn’t even attempt a tiny “Oui”!

I’ve spent the day googling properties to buy in France. Not even chateaux but 5 bed properties - oh my! Now to persuade my husband!

I'm watching the new series

I like the young couple with the baby. They are so sweet.

I hope the 3 younger chateau owners from last year are back in this series. Some of the owners have very kind and useful family and friends willing to visit and help!

I liked them too. I also love the single mum (Fiona?) she’s a woman on a mission to finish that chateau. She will probably restore it beautifully in the time it takes me to clean my little house .

I am very behind with all this, but we’ve recently finished Escape to the Chateau so thought we’d try the DIY version.

Dick and Angel are so likeable, as well as being knowledgable, creative and business savvy. However.. Escape to the Chateau DIY, with all these other shambolic Brits, is an ordeal to watch.

Jonathan and Michael were so offensive to Angel, calling her floral arrangement a bunch of weeds.. when they can’t run their business successfully, how dare they slate her work like that? When her weddings are immaculate??

The couple who rented their chateau were total clowns, they must have known the people whose party they hosted surely? How else could it be acceptable to have one working toilet for 60 people.. plus they were constantly arguing with each other and couldn’t handle the pressure. Not like watching the Strawbridges who are so professional.

The single mum however was a breath of fresh air! It was great to see her put her hand to everything.

Don’t get me started about too-low v neck guy and Abernathy the sausage dog who was totally over his shite 😳
