ESCAPE TO THE CHATEAU
Yoghurty · 27/03/2018 11:00

I looked at the food lovers weekend prices last year. It's about £1,200 for the weekend for 2- they pick you up from the airport and drive you the hour back to the chateau and the return as well. 3 meals a day, lounging and/or trips to the market/walking the area whatever you prefer. Obviously not including flights etc

TheFreshPrincess0fBelair · 27/03/2018 18:39

That seems a good price for all that

Greenhouseonthehill · 27/03/2018 19:02

I’d go!Grin

ppeatfruit · 28/03/2018 10:29

Yeah and you might be on the telly! Better get yer hair done!

TheFreshPrincess0fBelair · 28/03/2018 23:20

We need a mumsnet meet up there.

The80sweregreat · 01/04/2018 20:38

Anyone watching tonight? Dick on the cherry picker - he is so brave.

TheFreshPrincess0fBelair · 01/04/2018 21:28

The floating thingy in the moat?!
The chandelier she made could fall on your head if you don’t catch fire from the burner first

Itsnotanthrax · 01/04/2018 21:34

@Yoghurty I'm 50 this year. This might be my celebration.
I couldn't afford The Brandon Grin

Little Dorithy is adorable.

Itsnotanthrax · 01/04/2018 21:40

Is anyone else going to be watching Escape the the Chateau DIY?
Looks quite interesting.

Oblomov18 · 01/04/2018 21:47

Where do they get the money from?

Yorkshirebetty · 01/04/2018 22:23

Little Dorothy is absolutely adorable! Arthur is sweet as well, they seem like a happy family. That floating dome thing was amazing, Angel is very creative. Can't cope with the taxidermy though Confused

ArdnaGreine · 01/04/2018 23:05

Was quite skeptical of the dome but was so lovely. Would not mind staying!

They seem so happy and kids are adorable.

ppeatfruit · 02/04/2018 09:17

TheFresh The floaty thing on the moat WTF?? There must be 30 or more bedrooms that need doing up in the Chateau and dear Angel spends fortunes (new wood burner etc) On a 'floaty thing"!!!

She went up on the cherry picker she's verrrry brave! You wouldn't get me up on one of those!

The80sweregreat · 02/04/2018 09:28

They are so happy arn't they? always smiling and Dorothy has her mum's smile - the grandparents are so calm and lovely too. It must be great for the children growing up with so much space and lovely food and parents willing to give anything a try and not be daunted by how much still needs to be done. They do seem to have lots of money though for all these projects , the things they buy can't be cheap and all this hiring of big equipment must come at a price as well as paying for the extra labour needed now and again.Still, its been a great series and Dick is amazing as he can do it all!!

ppeatfruit · 02/04/2018 10:24

I reckon some of the money comes from allowing the cameras into their lives (the programme!). The 'happy family' look can be edited in you know. Sorry to sound cynical but dh is in the biz and he knows how they do it!

They're very lucky to have her parents being young enough and willing to help out with the children.

The80sweregreat · 02/04/2018 13:30

Yes. They are lucky that the g/ parents can help. My parents had the ‘ you made your bed you lie on it’ attitude and rarely helped with children ( unless an emergency) they wouldn’t move for me! It’s nice to see though.

ppeatfruit · 02/04/2018 13:34

It's tricky if you have more than one child and or sick parents, where do you move if it's needed!?

NancyDonahue · 06/04/2018 09:40

I was concerned about the dome toilet facilities. Would you have to go back to the chateau in the middle of the night for a wee? 😲

TheFreshPrincess0fBelair · 06/04/2018 10:59

Wee in the moat I guess.
For a poo you would have to go back to the chateau.

NancyDonahue · 06/04/2018 21:52

It says here there is a shower and loo for the dome. chateaudelamottehusson.com/product/glamorous-dome-camping/

No squatting and aiming at the water required. Phew!

ArdnaGreine · 06/04/2018 22:56

It seems quite pricey. Would be a single night stay rather than multiple. Certainly interesting though.

longwayoff · 17/03/2019 19:59

Anyone for glamping? Really quite fancy the dome.

CSIblonde · 17/03/2019 21:58

I usually watch amazed that she 'enjoys' making 90 personalised napkins or 100 teacup vase place name holders etc. I'd have died of boredom after 10. Their hobbies & skill sets are ideal for the chateau though.

ssd · 17/03/2019 22:02

Love this

Angel has incredible style and a lovely family
