Nancy, dh would love all the machinery etc,he just would hate the actual work involved. He would have to 'hire people'.
Everyone needs a Dick! 😃 he is multi talented.

nancy75 · 18/03/2018 21:05

Yes the first series the house was such a mess, I don’t think they had bathrooms or a kitchen, not fun to live in that with 2 little kids

MrsMoastyToasty · 18/03/2018 21:06

Wasn't his grown up son rather easy upon the eye?

The80sweregreat · 18/03/2018 21:06

They have done so well. It's an amazing place.

Itsnotanthrax · 18/03/2018 21:37

Loving this.
Highlights so far in no paticular order are...

Bambi (hence the evidence these children get screen time)

The duck in the freezer (added points for disturbing said Bambi child.

The fabric. It's amazing. I'd love it in my bedroom.

Children scaring away all the wildlife. So cute and relatively so I think.

Yes his adult son is vair handsome. The programme was Two Hunger Sailors. I vaguely remember Dick doing well on Masterchef.

TheFreshPrincess0fBelair · 18/03/2018 21:45

Ooooooh I wonder if the easy-on-the-eye vair handsome grown up son is single?
I would dump my husband in a heartbeat for free trips to the chateau

Itsnotanthrax · 18/03/2018 21:57

princess omg. That would be the perfect dream Smile

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 18/03/2018 21:59

Sorry, James is married with children of his own.
His ex Brigit is a very good friend of a few of my friends so stuff she’s doing often appears on my Facebook wall. She also remarried.

Blahblahdoll · 18/03/2018 22:08

I wish I had a bloody dick. He can engineer & make everything. Where does he find the energy?

Wingedharpy · 18/03/2018 23:55

He does seem to be able to turn his hand to anything but most of all, he seems to do it with such good humour (unless that's just for the cameras).
There never seems to be any huffing and puffing or screams of " why didn't you tell me before you didn't want it like this"?
They are both very creative but in different ways.
Some of Angels creations are beautiful and some are hideous and all of them are bonkers!
Good luck to them.

creamcheeseandlox · 19/03/2018 13:59

How do they not get stressed over anything. The sewage was sorted minutes before wedding guests arrived...I would had been having a breakdown! Confused

BlancheM · 19/03/2018 14:02

I bloody. Love. This. Programme.

Blahblahdoll · 19/03/2018 14:53

I would love to see a book of all the interior details & how to’s.

HelloMist · 19/03/2018 22:39

Can I join you? Haven't watched it yet but so pleased they're back! Grin It's funny timing for me as I finished series 3 on catch up only recently and was wondering when it might be back (if ever).

Jobbieshitkakaboudin · 19/03/2018 22:51

Looking forward to seeing this. I love their show, and France. DH and I have similar but not identical ideas, but probably not a reality for now.... not involving buying a castle Grin but being creative and hard working together in France.

Anyway my real contribution to the thread is that Angel was behind us in the queue for teacups at Disneyland Paris this January (5th maybe?)

I have 3 wild wild joyful kids who were overjoyed to even see a teacup never mind ride it. Poor old Angel looked like she couldn't give a fuck about teacups, and to be honest either did her boy.

I was deliberately trying not to look at them because they were total buzz kills. Even on the ride where everyone else was laughing and enjoying themselves these two were silent.

On reflection I hope they are ok.

Yorkshirebetty · 19/03/2018 22:56

I love this programme. They're so positive and optimistic! I love their creativity and obviously they're a bit bonkers! They look like a lovely happy family and that place is stunning. It cost the same as their flat in the UK.

The80sweregreat · 20/03/2018 08:31

jobbie, thats odd about the tea cup ride - maybe she was having a bit of a bad day ? i went to Disneyland Paris with ds 1 when he was 5 for a couple of nights and we had times when the queues and the pushing and shoving and just everything got us all down - we retreated to a place that was quiet and had a cup of tea and just chilled for 20 minutes, the whole place was getting us down a bit and my own dh was pretty miserable fighting over the croissants at breakfast! we have never been back, but others i know used to go every year and at christmas too when it must have been even busier, i thought they were mad!

i love the programme though, have followed it from the start and i agree that the rooms are really nice - must be good to have so much space around. I wonder if the children can speak french now?

ppeatfruit · 20/03/2018 12:43

I also LOVE THIS PROGRAMME!!!!!!!! The children will definitely speak french now (they go to a french maternelle). Which is more than I do, well I do a bit (we've lived here on and off for 12 years)!!!

A word of advice to anyone thinking of moving to Fr. the property is dirt cheap compared to London and the HC's. It's a good time to buy but not so good to sell!

Springiscoming123 · 25/03/2018 20:04

bump for tonight

Fluffypurpleslipper · 25/03/2018 20:29

I’m watching.

Love those sexy copper pans.

blackbunny · 25/03/2018 21:09

I wonder how much of a profit they make...they must spend a colossal amount on the projects, anyone know what they charge for weddings/stays?

TheFreshPrincess0fBelair · 25/03/2018 21:33

I think they have other sources of income too.

nancy75 · 25/03/2018 22:23

If her parents are moving there I wonder if they have sold their house & put some money in?

TheFreshPrincess0fBelair · 25/03/2018 22:34

They moved there when Dick and Angel did as they do a lot of childcare.
They live nearby I think, I did wonder if they put money in too.

Springiscoming123 · 26/03/2018 00:01

i wonder what the place is worth now
