I said that lastthread SMJ has to be 104 it makes no sense her being alive but there she is.

saoirsesoige · 05/03/2018 23:46

She doesn't have to be at all, since no-one said she was 90+ at the start of the series! Just because its in the book doesn't mean its the same in the show. And she wasn't a real person at all, she was fiction even in the books...like Chummy she was an amalgmation of several real life people.

MrsJayy · 05/03/2018 23:50

But she is 104 Grin

saoirsesoige · 05/03/2018 23:51

The actress is 82, if that helps

MargotLovedTom1 · 05/03/2018 23:53

Thank you Aragog.

Do we think Patsy will ever come back, or has that actress been written out too? It feels a bit empty now.

MargotLovedTom1 · 05/03/2018 23:55

Also, how tragic about the family friend and the septicaemia Accidentally. I rarely bother with gardening gloves. Will think again now.

Sister Monica Joan's worth must not simply be measured by orbits of the earth around the shining sun, but by contemplation of deeds done dutifully and in the silent potential of her future thoughts and prayers in the peaceful twilight.

Sisters, we are inspired!

Margomyhero · 06/03/2018 16:04

Oh poor poor Barbara. Stoical to the end.

I sobbed most of the way through the second half.

I did chuckle when Timothy wasn't allowed to see the Rolling Stones as they were undesirable. Dr Turner would be gagging to get tickets now they are touring again. ha ha (although he may be a bit old now ? )

DH won't watch this show with me - so I have to sob alone. Sad

DownAtFraggleRock · 06/03/2018 16:20

I really want to see Patsy come back. She and Trixie were my favourites.

Did anyone catch the name of the gospel choir? My recording cut off before the end of the credits. They sung beautifully.

BeyondDeadlySiren · 06/03/2018 17:57

Oh dear. Misery-by-numbers almost failed to get me this week -right up until Phylis took over the vicars prayer for Babs. I will admit I was surprised that borstal bloke didn't get out - I was imagining him being released and arriving just as baby was born.

SoupDragon · 06/03/2018 18:12

The choir doesn’t seem to be on the credits - I just checked on iPlayer.

Pebble21uk · 06/03/2018 18:26

Big piece in the Daily Fail... it's all so Dr Oneface can flog his book!!

Just watched and about broke myself.

Phyllis - oh Phyllis. I hate seeing her upset. Sad

I agree about her acting everyone off the screen. And I agree that everyone should have a Phyllis in their life.

And if Trixie comes back and lands with Tom I will get the hump and I'll stop watching. The simpering would be positively unbearable sweetie.

Tigresswoods · 06/03/2018 22:42

The choir wasn't named but at the end of the cast list there was a special thanks to someone. I looked her up but can't recall her name now.

OpalTree · 06/03/2018 22:48

On the CTMW facebook page there's a post about the choir with a video of them singing Amazing Grace and photos taken when they were filming. No name of them. Maybe they aren't a choir but people who auditioned as singers/actors?
