I’m having surgery next week and have a week of laying on my sofa once I get home. (School runs, house, work, all taken care of! Is it wrong I’m looking forward to this?) just me, the dog, some chocolate and a blanket.

I love ER, Greys Anatomy, modern family, game of thrones...

I’ve recently watched the crown, private practice, and all of Ru Paul’s drag race.

My DH says the issue is, we used to watch so many boxsets there’s nothing left. But there must be!

See if you can get hold of The Shield - there are 6 or 7 seasons and it’s incredible. How about The Sopranos, Mad Men, The Wire, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, House of Cards, Hannibal, Dexter, Narcos...

Mindhunters and Manhunt: Unabomber on Netflix are great but only one season.

How about some documentaries? The Jinx, The Staircase and Making A Murderer are all very addictive!

If you liked The Crown and Game of Thrones, then how about The Tudors? And yes House if you like the medical ones, though it might not be on Netflix anymore.

Practical note - you are at major risk of blood clots in your legs after surgery (like the type you can get on a long haul flight), so take care of laying about for lengthy periods not to be cramped etc. Make sure to ask your surgeon for clear advice on how to balance rest with the need to remain mobile to protect your veins (maybe you know all this already but just in case...). They’ve recommended a short walk a day after a couple of days so I’ll definitely do that...
