Not watched the full episode but thought it was rather awkward when Harriet and Richard had a kind of weird hug rather than a kiss after the vows??

Need to watch this on catch-up. Was anyone able to see what Harriet’s tattoo was?

I thought Harriet and Richard looked really awkward together. I think she is definitely into him (he is gorgeous 😍 ) but I don't think he's as into her.

Ben and Steph will definitely fizzle out. He seems like a nice fella. Annoying though but I'd say he has a good heart. Oh and yes so so camp.

That other fella Wayne.... I'm so annoyed for the girl. Why on earth did he let it get that far. I'd say his family gave him a good talking to off camera.

Ben reminds me of James Jordan from Strictly. He doesn’t look very much like him but it’s his mannerisms and accent.

DP reckoned the Harriet’s tattoo looked like handcuffs - which would be weirdly fitting! Possibly an infinity symbol though?

The Aussie ones are full of angst - so many arguments and upsets.
i haven't watched them all fully but skipped to where they are living together and its not going well. will be interesting to see who stays with who, but not much hope for any of them. its also very slow.

I've finished season 1 of the Aussies. One couple do work out but I won't spoil it for you!

I couldn't take at face value a 'real world' young man who says he prefers to be called Dick.

The same as I couldn't a woman choosing to be called Fanny.

There's a suspect mindset underlying that, arrogance, aggression or plain stupidity.

Dick does seem full of himself but that could just be his unblinking 'copper's stare'.

Ben is a fraud - everything about him sends my 'manipulative user' radar into overdrive

Yes, Ben is like James Jordan. Same voice and facial expressions. They just seem in it for a laugh.

Didn't warm to Dick/ Richard was it 5 serious relationships he had before? His lack of any emotion unsurprising in some ways they don't know each other so there is nothing there for the speech etc.. But also strange in terms of massive risk they have taken. Harriet seems sincere if very straight.
The other couple are sweet, I would agree that Ben seems kind hearted, vulnerable and yes annoying at times. Steph seems warm and genuine.

Why didn't the producers just set up another couple when Wayne pulled out?

I didn't feel like Harriet and dick had that spark when they first met, but maybe that's a good thing? I think that Ben might be in denial ...... but I love Steph so I hope not. I think it's a bit off them saying he's a millionaire - like that might make Steph 'try harder' almost? They didn't say how much everyone else had in the bank did they? Fascinating programme!

I’ve just started finding the US one. Does anyone else think that the men in particular are much more attractive than their UK equivalents? It seems like they take better care of themselves.

I watched a couple of episodes of the US one this week (was over there), didn't realise we could watch it here. I thought the black girl was smothering and expecting much too much too soon.

Ben and Steph are like a holiday romance, it will soon fizzle out. They just lark about, there's been no getting to know each other.

Harriet and Dick will be interesting. Neither seem the type for this kind of thing.

Just seen the first episode of the Australian one... looks like one of the couples from this have stayed together, which is nice.

I sense that Ben &Steph will start to go off the boil in the next episode. Behind his tackiness (and Steph commented on the weird sock-shoe combo that he lacked a woman in his life, presumable to guide him away from such sartorial disasters) I sense he is rather desperate to find a life partner. They do seem rather suited.
So I got to thinking -how does this work in RL if you meet Mr/Ms Right? Well, after the first flush, you are probably not chained to each other in marriage after the adrenaline/endorphin high wears off, so you have a chance to step back when the bumps in the road arise. Not so much in this format, so the whole thing falls apart. Maybe if they had been paired in RL & allowed to get on with it, it might actually work. An alternative approach, get paired up, get “engaged”, court for six weeks, then marry (or not) at the end of six weeks.
As a true introvert myself (Myers-Briggs test) I would find it hellish to have to hang out with someone continuosly, even if I fancied them.
