Richard and Merlin have definitely dodged a bullet there.

marchonwards · 08/03/2018 21:59

Ben is not really in it

petalpower · 08/03/2018 21:59

There you go - they're not living together presently ...

VanillaSugar · 08/03/2018 21:59

I know why Ben was so grumpy - he had to live in a little flat when his own home is amazing.

Cherrypie32 · 08/03/2018 21:59

Hubby hit the nail on the head, she’s waiting for someone more dynamic, more upwardly mobile maybe

WearTheFoxHat77 · 08/03/2018 22:00

They look much better, more relaxed and less stressed after the cameras weren't involved as much

Cherrypie32 · 08/03/2018 22:00

I think Ben & Steph are totally doing the right thing by not living together and dating

honeyroar · 08/03/2018 22:00

Richard and Harriet "remain good friends" - as if!

That's a shock about Ben and Stephanie, bit it's good that they're living apart and taking it slow.

Cherrypie32 · 08/03/2018 22:01

The size of that bed in the rental would have driven them insane surely!

Ickyockycocky · 08/03/2018 22:01

Yep he's the yoyo.

TheSassyAssassin · 08/03/2018 22:01

Not living together? 'Kay.....boding well! Is there any other follow up or is that it?

VladmirsPoutine · 08/03/2018 22:03

It won't last with Ben and Steph.

honeyroar · 08/03/2018 22:04

One day, when she's in her late 30s and getting bored of high flyers, Harriet will perhaps regret giving up on a "husband" that was patient, kind and trying to make her happy.

MsHarry · 08/03/2018 22:06

I think if not living together means they can give it a good chance then so be it. Gutted for Richard though but a least Merlin looked happy!

MsHarry · 08/03/2018 22:07

Bizarre that she said someone will be really lucky to get Richard!!! Doh!!!!!

MasterChefWannabe · 08/03/2018 22:13

Well I think Richard is gorgeous in his skinny jeans. He could take me skating anytime. Harriet takes the phrase ‘cold fish’ to a whole new level! As for Ben & Steph - words fail me.....

SashaSashays · 08/03/2018 22:14

I don’t think Harriet is that bad. She didn’t come across great but I don’t think she’s all that awful.

She tried to do something presumably to make her happier but ultimately it wasn’t what she wanted. It’s a big step to go from being all about yourself to being that close with another person and perhaps she didn’t consider that.

You can get on with someone and they can treat you well but I don’t think it’s awful not to love them.

Richard wouldn’t appeal to me, no matter how nice he is. I find the geek stuff really unappealing and am baffled that he’s been described as attractive!

Also I don’t think their lives worked. Seemed like Harriet does long city hours so wanted someone to meet her in town for drinks and outings after work, but I know they said Richard works a lot of nights and weekends.

mydogisthebest · 08/03/2018 22:17

Felt really sorry for Richard although he is much much better of without the misery that is Harriet. I bet Merlin is glad she's gone.

I disliked Harriet more and more by the minute. She came across as miserable and somewhat spoilt. Also seems to have totally unrealistic view of marriage. She didn't even try to make her marriage to Richard work.

The show annoys me really because I feel it makes a total mockery of marriage. I know I would be very disappointed if my son or daughter thought it was a good idea to marry a stranger and make it public by being on a tv programme. Also then to be divorced after just a few weeks of marriage.

I wonder what any future partners will think of it? It would put me off.

Also surprised at the Registrar woman who surely should see marriage as something more than an experiment, a tv programme etc?

marchonwards · 08/03/2018 22:24

I really liked Harriet's parents though. Very grounded.

squoosh · 08/03/2018 22:29

Harriet is probably an okay person but I can't for the life of me understand why she went on the show. To take part in this with even the teeniest hope of it working out you surely need to be emotionally open. She seemed as though she'd meant to take part in Antiques Roadshow but took a wrong turn and ended up in the Married At First Sight studio instead and was too terribly English to make a fuss and leave.

Badwifey · 08/03/2018 22:40

Mydogisthebest I actually wonder if they really are "legally married". I think too they make a mockery of marriage. I wonder if at the end they are told the marriage isn't actually legal but they have signed secrecy agreements or something... I kind of hope that's what it is!

I said before, I would be heartbroken if my dd took part in a show like this.

I don't think Harriet gave it a proper go. I felt really sorry for Richard but at least he can say he tried.
I think Steph seems a tad desperate. He won't like having to tell her his every move. Can't see it lasting at all.

Greenglassteacup · 08/03/2018 22:42

I think Richard is lovely
Harriet looks like a constipated Judy Finnegan

VladmirsPoutine · 08/03/2018 22:48

I don't think Harriet is awful. If there's no chemistry then there's no chemistry. It can't be forced. Perhaps for another man she'd have been falling over herself to show love and affection.

Steph will be on the Relationships's board within 6 months, however. mark my words

BigSandyBalls2015 · 08/03/2018 22:50

Loonoon - I think you're spot on about Harriett

PlaymobilPirate · 08/03/2018 22:55

Ben's a millionaire!? Sure therevwasnine if those round walk down wine cellars in the middle of that kitchen? Jealous if so!

I don't think Harriet and dick should have been matched - just the involvement of the gif is enough to show they're not well matched!
