The dog out of the cage is a metaphor. And horrible Harriet didn't even say goodbye to the dog. Really disliked her. There was nothing to warm to there at all.

If Stephanie has any sense she will run like the wind. I think whoever mentioned it was right, Ben could turn into a proper abuser type. It's all his way or the highway. I'd choose highway.
