Love these kind of programmes

Over the course of 6 episodes the Ellis family experience first hand what life was like for working families over the past 100 yrs

Beginning 1918

Yes we had to sit on the stairs and squish into the wall every time someone wanted up or down. And also change our conversation every time because we didn’t want anyone to know what we were saying. “Oh, so what do we have to do for maths homework again Claire?” Grin

We used "code" that really wasn't fooling anyone.

Me - speaks in code

Mum - if you think you're going to a party with NO adults think again! Grin

Anyone watching tonight? How lovely is the family's house in real life ?! Fab kitchen! Envy It's amazing how they were able to change everything so much for the programme.

NotAllTimsWearCapes · 13/03/2018 20:46

Their house looks lovely. I’m wondering if that’s it exactly as it was before. There is a double door to the back garden now that’s wasn’t there during the experiment so I wonder if that was covered up somehow or if it’s a new feature. And if the kitchen units etc are all their own from before or new ones.

THey must have had mega pro builders in to put everything back so well. Still want to know how thy got all old food!

Does make you think what’s next for food. Right back to beginning and no plastics all organic self made?

5foot5 · 14/03/2018 12:54

Wow yes fabulous kitchen

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/03/2018 07:41

Yes I wonder if they get a new kitchens our of it

Sure ripping out their room and then replacing few months later can’t be good

Budget must be quite good for this prog as of all the changes in the house

They blocked off half the house. And we only saw the kitchen and living room.
I’m guessing that getting a new kitchen and a redecorated living room out of it was part of the deal.

Maddiwmookins

Yes the constant digs at southerners annoyed me too. I'm pretty sure the ther family never moaned about the north

Other wise I liked it but they should have had a programme a decade.
