See, this is interesting Missrabbit
I do think the way everyone keeps apologising to her whenever they swear is a bit cringey. Yes they are trying to be respectful of their elders but she's not God and she too should be accepting that not everyone talks the way she does.
I don't think Ann requires their apologies or for them to moderate their language or behaviour because of her presence. She doesn't like what she regards as base language or conversation and doesn't use it herself, but I think it's other people's regard for her personal standards that make them feel they need to apologize, rather than her requiring it. And it's definitely not them deferring to her age, because Amanda is older.
During her career I'm sure Ann will have heard much worse than anything that's come out in the BB House, but she still has the right not to want it in her face.
She was the same on Strictly Come Dancing. She knew the nature of certain dances and the kind of costumes to be worn, but simply said, if I participate I won't be getting that close and personal and won't be wearing a barely there sexy frock.
I'll just leave that image hanging in cyber space but add that Louise Rednapp also initially said she wouldn't wear anything too skimpy or suggestive, so Ann's stance wasn't unique. Louise later changed her mind. I imagine the dancers' performance personas are much like the drag queens' and are left at the stage door, but Ann isn't the kind to adopt a persona I don't think, what you see is what you get in any situation.
