I have no doubt Ann is not easy to live with but I find her a fascinating character. To be of her generation and to have lived such as independent life, immersed in "a man's world" but not in relation to a man is reasonably unique, I would have thought.

Whatever you think of her personal politics (and mine are pretty much diametrically opposed to hers), she is a smasher of gender stereotypes, if nothing else.

I'm really liking Malika. She's sharp, much more than her "Valley Gurl", insta-fame persona would have you think and she's refreshingly straight talking. There's no doubt she will stand up to IW, she won't be able to help herself but I just worry a bit that she could get thrown to the genderist wolves by the program. She is female, young, black and a foreigner - prime candidate for a scapegoat.

I don't like RJ either. I think she's really trying to stir things for Ann. Ann has remained dignified throughout. I never thought I'd be defending someone with such dramatically opposing views, to mine.

Regarding the age of consent, I really don't think she was trying to say gay people should have less rights, but was trying, in her naivety to protect young gay men, as she felt that young straight people were at risk of being taken advantage of by othet straight people by being 'permitted' to have sex at 16. She did state that 16 was too young for straight people to have sex. She would raise the age of consent for everyone if she could. I don't agree with her, but I think her heart was in the right place.
