Dancing On Ice is back! Time to get your skates on #1

So the Strictly glitter has settled for another year but to fill the void we have the new series of DOI starting this Sunday at 6pm on ITV1.

Our presenters will be Phil & Holly and our judges are Jason Gardiner (he's the Craig!), Torvill and Dean, and Ashley Banjo (from Diversity).

There are 12 brave stars taking to the ice this year. ’Coronation Street’ actors Anthony Cotton and Brooke Vincent lead the way, alongside ‘Hollyoaks’ star Stephanie Waring, Good Morning Britain’s weather presenter Alex Beresford, Love Islander Kem Cetinay, former ‘Great British Bake Off’ champ Candice Brown, singer Lemar, rugby player Max Evans, former ‘X Factor’ contestant Jake Quickenden, Olympian Perri Shakes-Drayton, presenter Donna Air and Bucks Fizz member Cheryl Baker.

There has already been injury - Lemar has replaced cricketer Monty Panesar who literally crashed out with a broken ankle...ouch!

So come and join us...there will be dancing , there will be ice and there will be thread mascots

I thought the opening was fab! I started to think it was going to be less low rent than previously.

But as soon as it started it was back to lowest common denominator-ville.

Why can't it be classy and entertaining like strictly? Why do they have to spoil it?

Stupid jokes from over smooth Phil. I bet Holly was cringing with those iced fingers.

I am disappointed!

I wonder whether to give it a few weeks and tune back in. I am just not feeling it.

Yes it needs a bit of pizzazz of some description....or maybe someone to fall flat on their arse!

It doesn't help that I don't know who a lot of these people are and haven't got a particular one to get behind.

Are the professional skaters trining the celebs on their own?

Perri looks like she is enjoying it - and it was a good performance

I liked her! As an athlete I think it must be harder to do the performance bit so good on her.

I think it may have been a mistake bringing it back without getting some VERY big names to skate.
Reality show 'stars' appearing on other reality shows doesn't really do it for me.

I like her headgear.

She's got a stunning figure...not sure I could carry off a sparkly wetsuit ...especially on skates!

I think that's it Sparkling they need bigger names .

Perhaps we should score the whole show at the end?

I'll give it a chance for the first few weeks, it'll take time to settle into itself, it's be gone for four years, but I really think they should have new presenters, Phil and Holly are so boring.

I agree with Sparkling. I just don't care about these people, and don't even recognise most of them.

CJCreggs, yes, I don't feel any connection. Nobody to cheer on. Plus the whole format seems very tired for a revamp of a show.

Oh thought that was very good, she'll be one to watch I think.
