My guess is that Aiden is related to one of the men in the van - possibly the one who shot Mick - and it's all been a complete set-up.

The shooter is also in on it, although in his scene he didn't look comfortable doing it, he almost looked scared. Maybe Aiden is forcing him to do it? Or blackmailing him?

Actually you're right about him seeking out Mick. He paid Keegan to 'mug' him in front of Mick and then was very open about his plans considering it was apparently a complete stranger.
