I don't
Mind Joe winning, even though he wasn't as good as Alex or Debbie - I think Katya's choreography was amazing, and SHE deserves to win for that!

TheDrsDocMartens · 16/12/2017 21:20

I’m happy with Joe winning. Debbeh grew on me this week and I wouldn’t have bothered if she won, loved Gemma for being so down to earth. Even Alexandra grew on me after some real emotion last week.
Reckon they’ll all do well in theatre next.

TheDrsDocMartens · 16/12/2017 21:21

Katyas squeals were Hilarious. My dd2 does that when excited/upset and the words just disappear into something only digs can hear.

bookbook · 16/12/2017 21:22

I'll give it a go on Christmas night, but will have visitors ....

TheSassyAssassin · 16/12/2017 21:23

Right. Need to sober up. So bye for now my lovelies. Will be here on Christmas Day if not before xx

Haha the judges' faces!! Serve them right.

HangryHanderson · 16/12/2017 21:27

Of course - doh - I am looking forward to the Xmas special. Will see you on that thread - are we back on here or starting a new one?

Cannot find Charlie Brooks so here's BARROWMAN [waves fist]

I did like the group dance this year...pitchfork-bothering, Rev Bri and Si banned from dancing, bells reminding us why Charlotte got booted, Karen being reduced to FOOD with her head on a plate for symbolic good measure, Aston's in your face lifts and flip, Tony Beak's velcro wardrobe malfunction which Ruth had always dreaded would happen to her, Jonnie's haircut too little too late Jonnie should have happened week 3 there was something for everyone, Kev and Susan's M and W reprise tour number shoe-in, Davood's bum lift, Mollie's flying, very very good and all ending with a pile on top. Applause.

CeeBeeBee · 16/12/2017 21:37

I didn’t notice the judges’ faces but I am very pleased that Joe won. I also love how Neil is always beaming with pride after their dance.

I thought they were all very gracious in their reaction to Joe and Katya’s success, as the champions of this year’s Strictly.

scrabbler3 · 16/12/2017 21:43

Goodbye - see you in about eight months' time!

numbereightyone · 16/12/2017 21:46

I suppose had Alexandra won we'd have had weeks of newspaper articles about how Debbie angry is. And vice versa.

Thetreesareallgone · 16/12/2017 21:49

Hangry I liked the other celebs dance as well, and Aston did show why he should have been in the final IMO!

Samcro · 16/12/2017 21:49

Sad that gemma didn't win, but joe was our second choice.

saladdays66 · 16/12/2017 21:52

Gah. Thought joe was weak tonight. Thought Debbie was fab - loved her show dance.

Oh well. Actually thought joe was the weakest. Katya’s Choreography won it for him.

I’d pay to see Debbie dance - not joe.

Judges were surprised/disapproving.

What was Bruno on?

OneInAMillionYou · 16/12/2017 21:53

I think Alexandra will have achieved her objective, to be cast in the new Tina Turner musical!
First cast has already been announced but I would put money on her being I. The second cast.

Strangely flat at the result. I knew Joe was popular and I don't mind him, but Debbie and Gemma were my winners on the night.

Giovanni has gone up hugely in my estimation for his beautiful relationship with Debbie.

ElephantsandTigers · 16/12/2017 21:57

Joe has danced before

CaveMum · 16/12/2017 21:59

I’m pleased Joe won.

For those of you that are DOI fans, they’ve just announced the new announcer/commentator will be Matt Chapman. He’s been around for years in the horse racing world (where I work) and is a very Marmite character. Good luck with him!

Independentstateofeyebrows · 16/12/2017 22:04

What was Bruno on?
The floor at one pointGrin

saladdays66 · 16/12/2017 22:13

Lol, eyebrows!

What was the point of Shirley and Bruno giving everything 10?

Thought AB was overmarked. She is clumsy and clumpy. I’d pay to see Debbie but none of the others.

TheDrsDocMartens · 16/12/2017 22:14

I didn’t notice the judges other than Bruno at the end, they really should try and celebrate with everyone else.

Loved the group dance, wonder how deliberate the pile up was?
My dd was rooting for an AJ Molly kiss. It was mentioned enough!

Petalflowers · 16/12/2017 22:15

Didn’t know who,was going to,win. In different rounds I liked different dances tonight. However, felt happy with the result, but felt sorry for Giovanni, who,got the best out of Debbie.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 16/12/2017 22:21

Yes, I think I feel that Giovanni was robbed rather than Debbie this year. He really created a beautiful partnership and some wonderful dances for her.

Slartybartfast · 16/12/2017 22:23

Wonder how giovanni and gorka and alejez reacted, giovanni in particular was great

HangryHanderson · 16/12/2017 22:25

The pile on was in homage to Tony Beak's paso. Have just made DH rewatch the showdances. He outwardly groaned at the cheesiness of Joe's and would have given the Glitterball to Debs because she's nearly 60 yes he went there

StrugglingAlbion · 16/12/2017 22:32

I love Alejaz. He seems so lovely. But they were never going to win. I'm happy with the result.

MargotLovedTom1 · 16/12/2017 22:33

I bet Gorka was RAGING inside. Am v v pleased re Joe: I've loved him ever since The Crow Road and Small Faces. So wtf was going on with Bruno - he was a pain in the arse falling around when Gemma and Alijaz were waiting patiently for comments, and he had a face like a slapped arse at the end when Joe won.
