Hello PWBs, Lurkers and anyone else who is remotely interested.

Just read the first article I've seen about the January CBB - apparently they are starting off with all women.

Didn't they do this before or has reality TV made me imagine things?

Will anyone be watching this time???

Apparently people are complaining that the show was edited to show India semi naked and not any of the other housemates

Perhaps that's because no one else sat there in front of a mirror jiggling their bare breasts about?

futuristic1 · 05/01/2018 09:32

Rachel is Boris' sister. I mean, that's not what she is famous for. She is an award winning journalist and Booker Prize winning novelist.

Not being too elitist or pettily pedantic but, while I like Rachel Johnson well enough, and I'm sure she's a capable enough journo, and has written several 'novels' - she ain't no Booker winner - although she has apparently won the Bad Sex in Fiction prize... Smile

futuristic1 · 05/01/2018 09:44

I hope Maggie doesn't go OTT if a 'young man' comes into the house.

She's creating a sense of underlying dread in me.

On the first night Rache offered her a drink and she looked astounded and replied - I not going to get pissed - as though it was compulsory and CBB was some big Hen Night kind of thing.

Banging on about protecting young girls is very right and proper but I wish they'd taken her up on her 'young men' selection motivations and criteria - Trump's in my head now!

Who is Trisha that people keep mentioning?

WallisofWindsor · 05/01/2018 10:29

bambambini I agree, I'm also watching for the same reasons. I just hope the men can sit down and engage in proper conversation with the ladies.

bestthings · 05/01/2018 12:15

I think India is convinced she looks like a woman., but actually looks a bit ridiculous, the lack of hips, the manly forehead, shoulders and arms, nothing like a woman. Made me laugh the way she told Ann she forgave her slip up when she called her a he. Ann looked far from repentant. Maybe if she looked like a she it wouldn't happen. You're a bloke love, it's going to happen.

IhaveChillyToes · 05/01/2018 12:20

I understood the conversation between Ann and Rachel and one of the young ones about sahm vs wohm to be that Ann was saying that in olden times women were told that they must stay at home to look after children and looked down upon if they went out to work

Then it had gone so far the other way now that women who wanted to stay at home to look after children are looked down upon by those who go out to work

And Rachel said she spent so much money paying for childcare and Ann saying why have children if you give them to others.

So I think both views are valid............

I used to be a children's nanny so I used to say if women didn't go out to work I wouldn't have a job but when mine were born I wanted to stay home to look after them not give them to someone else to look after (but felt loads of pressure from other women that when I answered what job do I do - I am a mum they would turn their nose up and ignore me then walk away like I wasn't worth talking to)

Yes, the slinky dresses make them more like drag queens, more cartoon caricatures sort of thing.

IhaveChillyToes · 05/01/2018 12:50

I think it is fine if they want to wear strange dresses or weird outfits etc like a drag queen but should leave them at home cos they are ghastly

Then when they go out into the real world wear normal clothes like XX women do, like jeans and jumper etc

I think it is like the awful underwear that men in films used to think women loved wearing, before Bridget Jones with her big girl pants

betgilroy · 05/01/2018 12:55

Agree with the comments about India's style/appearance/clothing choices making her transgenderism even more obvious.
Boobs out at any opportunity, teeny tiny skirts, trying to go for the barbie look.
She is 52 years old, not 22. She could look much, much more sophisticated and convincing if she didn't try so hard.

The tasks are a joke too. Changing a tyre and hammer throwing. India is going to nail all of those because she's a tall, strong looking former male who only transitioned 2 years ago.

it's a bit like that athlete - can't remember their name, the one who won 400m women's olympic gold but is actually mixed sex?

sheldonesque · 05/01/2018 13:09

I've clearly been living my life all wrong. I think doing my hair like that would very much be a health and safety issue.

And I don't think I've ever been asked to flash my bosom by another woman either. Is this a thing?

I do think Rachel is poking at Ann and I don't care for it. I may not agree with all of Ann's views but RJ is well aware that she is trying to expose the differences to Ann's detriment. That's nasty. I'm rapidly going off RJ because of that.

I still like Ann a lot. She is saying what she believes and she is entitled to do so. I feel that some people are still being tremendously savvy and are being hugely careful with what comes out of their mouths. Ann was right at the dinner. I thought Maggie was rude.

I confess I despaired at the dinner conversation. Dumps and sex faces? My eyes would not be rolling but spinning.

I'm sad that the bitching has started all ready.

Now I shall have to put my dear little people in a flowery satin playsuit and silent disco dance to myself.

MadgeMak · 05/01/2018 13:15

The reason why a lot of trans women wear hyper sexualised clothing is because a large number of them are autogynephiles. The clothing is part of the fetish.

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 05/01/2018 13:41

Am I the only one who had to look up autogynephiles?
Grin

sheldonesque · 05/01/2018 13:42

Already. Sheesh Blush

sheldonesque · 05/01/2018 13:43

Snap Lloyd

GoldenGumballs · 05/01/2018 13:59

Looky likey time ... come on ladies it’s CBB not Panorama Grin

QuiQuaiQuod · 05/01/2018 13:59

*I am watching on +1 but why are they editing it against Ann?

Is it cos they are setting her up to fail?

Quite a lot of the clips are anti Ann

I realise that is the story they want her to be on CBB

But feel bad that her story is so anti so early*

^^this.

And I howled with laughter when she said to IW about saying 'he' ''if you didnt talk about it so much i wouldnt have slipped up'' or somwthing like that. SPOT ON ANNE.

IW is trying too hard. i mean, topless? knowing full well all the cameras are there?

RJ is clearly goading Anne all the time. she doesnt like her at all. I think RJ looks like Linda Mccartney.

and police woman channeling the looks of Tina Turner and Gloria Hunniford!

WAllis cos I hate the Kardashians, so surprised to find myself warming to her. mind you she was a bit nasty about AW last night. Is she the lost Williams sister? she reminmds me of both Venus and Serena.

totes agree on what everyones saying about IW. Too much.

Liking AW and Amanda best so far.

and Jess remids me of a cross between Deborah Watling and Lindzi from Blue Peter. (everyone looks like someone to me!!!)Grin.

GoldenGumballs · 05/01/2018 14:00

Oops will post now. I think of Robert Redford and Georgia from Ally Mcbeal when I look at Rachel!

why are they bringing the men in so soon? Am enjoying the way it is atm. same if they had started with just men. leave them alone a bit more.

and Aw isnt one for talking about boobs/make up/bling is she? she might get on better with the guys.

GoldenGumballs · 05/01/2018 14:03

Oooo qui we looky likey’d at the same time Shock

IhaveChillyToes · 05/01/2018 14:35

I also feel that Ann is the only one that is being real Xmas Smile

I mean she is confident in herself to be her - rather than a caricature of herself Xmas Smile

People who know her say she is really lovely like Anton Du Beke on BOTS said last night that she is lovely lady but you just know not to swear around her Xmas Smile

I kind of like Jess although didn't expect to when first saw her Xmas Smile

Really dislike Rachel think she is a stirrer (if she didn't want to be associated with bores then why not use her married name, cos using Johnson opens doors for her like CBB)

When I saw her going in I said to DH that it must be something in Johnson household this season first the dad in the jungle (which I didn't watch so no idea what he is like) then her in CBB, what about other johnsons doing celeb bake off?

Is it cos Boris wants to be PM and if they don't do celeb stuff now they can't do it once he is PM?

DameDoom · 05/01/2018 14:47

Rachel is Boris' sister. I mean, that's not what she is famous for. She is an award winning journalist and Booker Prize winning novelist.

Eeh - I was being sarcy.

I still love her hair though. The quality of it not the style. She could donate some to IW as the extensions were very visible.

DameDoom · 05/01/2018 14:50

I really like Jess too IhaveChilly. Seems a very grounded, pleasant young woman and looks breathtaking without make-up.

WallisofWindsor · 05/01/2018 15:02

QuiQuaiQuod Yes, I was a bit disappointed about the fact she was engaging with IW about AW.
I don't think she looks like the Williams at all. She is an identical twin and you could not tell them apart (with her sister)
Not that it matters- but you know Malika is originally from Iran.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 05/01/2018 17:40

Ann was right at the dinner. I thought Maggie was rude

I don't think Maggie making a point about the Catholic Church abuse wa rude, if that's what you mean. It's a shame Ann was so dismissive with her "I won't give you a one sentence reply", when Maggie wanted more than that obviously. Maybe Ann couldn't come up with a response at all. It's a shame IW was so quick to shut down the debate.

I'm no fan of IW but I have to ask, is it the women theme that's annoying you all, or the transgender he/she identity? Because I don't remember so much criticism of Nadia (who went on to win) or Kelly what's her name (former boxing manager) so early on especially regarding how they dressed or acted?

I have avoided all the trans threads on mn so this thread has been a real eye opener for me.
