Witnesses: A Frozen Death, BBC4

Did anyone see this last night? I enjoyed it. French crime/thriller rather than BBC4's more usual Scandi fare, but quite acceptable Grin

They've given the female lead the obligatory unreliable vintage car and made her a slightly OCD single parent, but it's shaping up nicely, I think. 8 episodes in total.

I love the brown leather jacket she's wearing in this series! I wouldn't mind buying something similar, if anyone knows of one?

I am rather enjoying it. I did bridle a bit at the woman lead detective who brought her youngest to work because her child care had fallen through asking the young woman police officers look after her.

i know midsomer that didn't sit well with me either, surely CM and nurseries aren't that hard to find in Northern France? The kid spent the whole day in the buggy as far as I could tell!

I'm enjoying it too.

I am really enjoying this but the lady who disappeared for 3 years has obviously had her hair colloured while she has been away. I find this a weak bit in the story.

I've managed to totally confuse myself and don't know which episode I'm up to, and have already potentially spoilered myself trying to look at episode guides...!

Can anyone tell me which episode it is when they go to the farm and (POTENTIAL SPOILER)
.

.
find the dead guy in the chair?
That's where I'm up to but I can't work out which ep it is.

That's the end of episode 2. That's as much as I have seen so far.

RhiannonOHara · 05/12/2017 17:10

OK, thank you. So I've got two whole eps to watch on iPlayer. Yay!

I said to DH that the 'perp' covers their crimes impeccably. Surely somene very forensically aware - a police person? In an English thriller they would have already flagged that up, I think.

I'm enjoying this series and was really glad I spotted it on iplayer.

I started watching s1 on 4od last year, was loving it, then it disappeared off the site when I only had 2 episodes left to go! I was so bloody annoyed. May have to find a synopsis somewhere so I know what happened in the end.

Anyone watching tonight?

I fear for the male cop!

I'm watching but it's getting more and more ridiculous after starting out so well.

apples, I agree, this is straying into the realm of the "slightly bonkers", largely due to the female detective going it alone. Her interrogation techniques, last week, were unorthodox to say the least. She almost killed that poor man. Two funny bits from this week, when she got out the car and said "I'm a cop" to some passers by and the woman from the care home did the same. Also, identifying the killer because he kept Danish butter cookies. I have a tin of cassoulet, but it doesn't make me French!

youre all saying exactly what I thought, descending into farce towards the end. Which is a shame as it started really well.
