I don't know about that, I think it's not just the young ones watching this - they're more likely to be watching Grease maybe?

Lee stands out so much IMO that I'll ve very very surprised if he doesn't win.

He's what Connie Fisher was in the Maria programme.

I was delighted when they announced they would sing "Bring him home" as I knew Daniel would be fantastic in that, because it has a horrificly wide range and beautiful long notes which really expose tone and quality of voice.

And ALW completely failed to justify his decision IMO: I thought he was really tongue-tied. "It's a shame, you should have stayed a few more weeks .." or similar ... Err.. So why did you just kick him out then?

I'm not a big Daniel fan, I think his voice is superb, but he's not Joseph for me. I could imagine him in Chicago actually. But tonight's sing-off decision was just a joke.

Yes I agree that Lee stands head and shoulders above the others, as did Connie last year. But I don't remember they got rid of the competition last year. I feel sorry for Daniel, he is streets ahead of Lewis, and, in fairness to Lewis, he is young enough to improve and have his share of glory when he has matured a bit. I think Lewis looked like he knew he was going out, hence all the tears afterwards.

I am astonished to be thinking this, but after tonight, I find myself agreeing with Ben re ALW: does the man know what he is doing?

Dumbledoresgirl - the public make the final vote I think.

Chamomile - that's a wonderful comment from your son. We call him Plastic Man here, but Prince Charming from Shrek is better.

Dumbledoresgirl - last year they were accused of editing the tapes to make Connie look really good, and therefore influencing the public.

I think this year they're doing the opposite to avoid a repeat accusation. But ALW is using tactical voting to get the result (Lee) that he wants.

I should be going to bed, but am so wound up I had to check you guys were with me on this one. After I'd calmed down and stopped shouting "w**ker" at the screen, I decided too, that this was ALW's way of ensuring Lee would be the winner. No other explanation; I thought Daniel's sing off performance was so good, he could almost be cast as Jean Valjean. Outstanding. Lewis' was unemotional ("I want to see emotion"? was it, from ALW?), forgettable, and frankly, crap by comparison.

I have come to this programme late (I watched Jonathon Ross last night).

Now in the opening titles I noticed a rather delicious looking black man. Could he not sing? He was rather easy on the eye and I'm sorry to have missed him.

Marsy, I think the men in the opening credits are just actors, not competitors. It was the same for the maria series.

There was a rather nice black man in the initial show though, but he did not make it to the final 12.

roisin - we are on the same wavelength as i thought that exactly about daniel - chicago... or what about enjolras/marius from les mis (or even valjean from the way he sang bring him home tonight!)

I want Lee to win this, but otherwise, I think he looks just like Marius should!

I was so surprised that Daniel went tonight. Lewis is just too girly looking and not nearly as strong a singer as Daniel.

Lee was on top form tonight. He has to win now.

Daniel going was a travesty. He was saying he wanted to see if Daniel could sing with that passion and raw emotion in his voice, I was nearly crying with his sing off. My 1st thought is ALW got rid of him to make sure Lee wins!! Not that I disagree with that Lee is betterthan them all. But the editing is funny, Lee's 'clip' was all the others taking the piss out of Lee!! All the others had nice little bits about them, Lee was exposed as an onion eating, steak loving saddo who sleeps with a photo of Jason Donanvan by his bed!!

Bill Kenwright is a big fan of Lee, and I'm sure would definitely cast him in something if he didn't get this.

Yeah I miss Seamus too. Something fishy went on there too (with ALW, not with the public. It was obvious the public would not like Seamus, but he had talent)

Couldn't they swap Craig, Keith and Lewis for Seamus? Would be a fair price!

I agree aboutDaniels performance, Les Mis should snap him up. A 28 yr old who could sing an old mans part like that and make you believe it

Not to take anything away from the 'boys' but IMHO they are all too young to play Joselh. They won't be able to have the gravitas in the 2nd half of the show.

Oh and in Joseph he seduces Mrs Poteph (eg DVO) hence the snog

If ALW wanted Lee so desperately surely he would have booked him in a lead role (rather than understudy) long before this comp tho?

I think they could all do with a bit more oomph in the acting department to be honest - as ALW keeps saying this isnt just a 'good singing' contest.

I quite feel for Craig - he is trying so hard and putting everything into it. He isnt anywhere near as polished as Lee but then, they are from different entertainment backgrounds.

Oh, and in answer to "Who votes for Craig?" I think the answer is half population of Scotland. The other half voting for Keith, obviously.
