Omg!
Poor bob
Hated that episode with the punks - what was that? I got the feeling it was some reference to some 80s classic film but it went over my head

Rob Lowe?

Andylion · 31/10/2017 22:24

Rob Lowe?

Hmm, nope. Although the eyebrows are similar.

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 31/10/2017 22:25

Zac efron?

Andylion · 31/10/2017 22:28

Oh, I think I'm thinking of Jared Leto! The eyes/eyebrow combo.

Thanks, NoCry, for trying. Smile

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 31/10/2017 22:29

Oh yes he is a bit like Jared!

Andylion · 31/10/2017 22:31

Does anyone else think that Hopper is kind of sexy? Blush

Tigresswoods · 31/10/2017 22:34

Andylion yes!

Anyone notice Mike & Nancy’s little sister has disappeared from existence?

Andylion · 31/10/2017 22:36

And did Lucas have a sister in season 1?

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 31/10/2017 22:38

Yes andylion!

Mike and nancy’s Sister was in this season. There was a scene where she was sitting at the dinner table with pigtails in. Can’t remember if we saw her face though.

Andylion · 31/10/2017 22:44

So, if Eleven was the eleventh, and we met Eight, how many of Eleven's siblings will we meet next season, (assuming there are least nine others)? And will they all be female?

Figgygal · 01/11/2017 10:48

If they're going to dedicate entire episodes again to 11 and her siblings I'd rather not meet any of them

Anyone else find the last episode really dark I really struggled to keep up with what was going on at times .

I felt quite sorry for Billy in the scene with his dad God knows why Max's mother puts up with that abusive shit to billy even if he's not her son. And yes I do think he's rob Lowe alike

Figgygal · 01/11/2017 10:50

And yes hopper is great

Chickenpie9 · 01/11/2017 17:14

I enjoyed the series when it focused on the existing characters , loved the evolution of Steve into babysitter and mentor for Dustin . Also enjoyed Hopper and Eleven . Hated episode 7 and couldn’t bear to watch a series 3 if it was only about those characters from that episode . The snow ball was a lovely end though felt so glad Nancy appeared to dance with Dustin .

TuftedLadyGrotto · 02/11/2017 13:50

The punk episode could have been a bit of lost boys reference?

I loved the series, a screamed out loud when Bob died. He was a goonie (the actor)

LadyR77 · 03/11/2017 11:00

Oh god - finished the last 3 episodes last night! Poor Bob!! I loved him (have had an enduring fondness for Sean Astin ever since Goonies).

My heart broke for Dustin when those girls treated him so meanly - so glad that Nancy made it a bit better for him, though.

Loved this series, and so glad it lived up to the promise that Season 1 showed. Now the looong wait for Season 3!

SloanePeterson · 03/11/2017 18:48

We really loved it too, but hated the punk episode. If we ever rewatch it that's the only one of the series we'd skip. It just didn't add anything and took time away from the characters you already cared about. It just felt awfully cliche in a series which otherwise treads really well.

SquatBetty · 03/11/2017 20:41

I've watched the lot and yes the street gang of Eleven's sister are just so clichéd!

I seem to have missed something though; the conspiracy theorist type bloke that Nancy and Jonathan go and see and spend the night with - who is he, how do they find out about him etc?

SloanePeterson · 03/11/2017 20:44

He's the guy that Barbs parents have paid a fortune to to find out what happened to her. They find out about him when they go there for dinner

YoloSwaggins · 03/11/2017 20:50

Oh my god this series was amazing. I sort of wish there wasn't another one though, I feel they rounded it off really well - all the characters are finally happy and at peace, Mike and El are together, the Underside is firmly sealed off the face of the earth so who cares what happens there anymore. I can't deal with the stress of another series and praying no-one gets eaten by demagorgons, every jumpy scene takes a few weeks off my lifespan.

I love the Steve/Dustin bromance and the bit where Mike and El danced reduced to me to tears....

desperatehousewife2 · 03/11/2017 22:25

Does anyone else wonder what the heck Nancy sees in drippy Jonathan and why she rejected the lovely Steve?

BaDumShh · 04/11/2017 10:20

Steve was absolutely horrible in S1. It’s only recently that he started to redeem himself.

nancy75 · 05/11/2017 23:00

Nancy dancing with Dustin was perfect, the girls that turned him down were all kicking themselves seeing him dancing with her. The acting in this show was brilliant, I hope Winona Ryder starts being in other stuff, she is a brilliant actress ( and always has been)

LoafEater · 06/11/2017 21:52

Just finished! I loved it more than s1. How amazing are the kids as actors? Better than most adults I've ever seen. I want to see Winona in everything - she is just fantastic and has become more beautiful with age. Some director need to give her a big film part. Hopper is one big hunk of manhood.

KickAssAngel · 06/11/2017 22:14

I love Hopper's character. He was probably a bit of a high school hero. He & Joyce used to hang out and be the cool kids that smoked. He was the police chief and probably quite a big fish in a small town. Then his daughter died and he suddenly became more of a loser. Now Eleven and the other kids are his salvation. He needs someone to need him, so that he can step up and be their protector. Without that he's a bit of a nobody.

I really love how we can see both his hero side, and his loser side, without him suddenly changing drastically. It's like he's right on the edge between hero and zero.

Hassled · 07/11/2017 22:15

Finally! I've just watched the finale - a really worthy successor. I was so afraid of being disappointed and I just wasn't. I'm still blown away by the quality of the kids' acting - they are unbelievably good. They need proper awards - not some "up and coming" stuff, but real recognition.

I've learnt that Demidogs is surprisingly hard to say when you've had a couple of glasses of wine and are very tired.
