Can't see a new thread??

OP posts:
CalmanOnSpeeddial · 22/10/2017 23:09

Also, (haven’t caught all of every thread so probably someone’s said this already) moaning about how you have trouble with the dance because of your old Achilles’ tendon injury is never a good look when Johnny Peacock is standing right there next to you. Unfair perhaps because it might be a perfectly legitimate problem, but still…

AmericanPastoral · 22/10/2017 23:12

Too true Calman.

Theromanempire · 23/10/2017 06:12

calman exactly what me and DH said and I love that Craig called him out on it! I used to like him but am rapidly going off him...very whiny!

The thing is, not one single judge is going to pick Jonnie up on technical issues caused by his missing leg are they? If Simon has a "hidden" problem with his ankle there is nothing wrong with him mentioning it. Craig was right that he should have swivelled with his good foot though.

I'm not a Simon fan BTW, I just see this as a non issue.

SoupDragon · 23/10/2017 08:41

I've said it before but to me it doesn't matter which order they pick off the Duffers, the right ones tend to end up in the last rounds regardless.

I would have liked to see Rev Richard stay over both Brian and Simon because he was at least entertaining rather than dull mediocrity.

Ceto · 23/10/2017 08:44

I'm no expert, and of the two I think Brian is a much more entertaining dancer. However, I did find it very noticeable first time round that Simon was out of time, whereas in the Dance-off he seemed to have corrected that. On the other hand, Brian was just as flat-footed both times. I suspect Simon will be out next week.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 23/10/2017 09:30

Brian Whall

And actually - the Rev - they were both crap, but in the dance off Rimmer was crappier.

RhiannonOHara · 23/10/2017 09:50

I really want to see someone do a tango to "Red Right Hand" by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. That's my fantasy Strictly routine. You know, for when they run out of celebs to invite on and start asking forty-something freelancers from London. Grin

I'll miss Brian, and I never thought I'd say that. He worked hard and didn't complain, and Amy clearly liked and respected him. I was warming to Amy too so I'll miss her. Simon is a whinger and I'm not sure how much Karen's even enjoying it.

I fear for Susan because if she ends up in a dance-off with Simon, which seems inevitable, PPs are right: Mother of Scouses will just save him even if he falls over again.

morningtoncrescent62 · 23/10/2017 10:44

And the winner this week is... Craig. And not just for his wonderful Bruno imitation (I loved the falling off the chair).

I thought Brian made it quite clear he'd had enough - he really struggled to find something polite to say in the before-the-dance-off chat with Tess, and it was obvious he wasn't going to make any effort to stay. I thought Craig nailed it, saying how hard it was to choose between someone who fell over and someone who forgot the routine. I.e. he thought they should both go, and neither deserved to be saved. Too right, Craig.

Thanks, dear MNers for explaining the Mother of Dragons thing to me. I had no idea what all that was about. Blush I'm loving Susan - her contribution reminds me of John Sergeant's, she's funny and charming and obviously throwing herself into the experience.

ppeatfruit · 23/10/2017 11:18

So how do you choose between 2 clods? They both should've gone Grin Does Shirley have favourites? That is a definite no no.

ImListening · 23/10/2017 11:37

I’ve said it before & will say it again. I’m not keen on Shirley, she’s HJ & should be a love her blatant favouritism.

As much as I thought was time for Charlotte to go, Shirleys rudeness to her means she’s marked her cards as far as I’m concerned.

RhiannonOHara · 23/10/2017 11:41

I thought Shirley was being unpleasant to Brendan more than to Charlotte. Especially after him calling her 'my dear' Hmm for which I wouldn't have blamed her if she'd handed him his arse.

MrsJayy · 23/10/2017 12:10

It looked liked Brendan andShirley hated each other from the off and his my dear sealed his fate. With shirley and simon it is a Merseyside thing.

CaveMum · 23/10/2017 13:37

My dance teacher hinted at the weekend that she'd heard that Shirley and Brendan have previous. Rather unprofessional of them both to carry it on to the tv show if that's the case.

MrsJayy · 23/10/2017 13:41

I imagine the dance world is quite small it did look like they had previous the body language was not the friendliest,

ppeatfruit · 23/10/2017 13:42

Especially as Shirley is now Head Judge. She should be above such pettiness.

MrsJayy · 23/10/2017 13:46

Len HATED James Jordan and never hid it he was quite blatant about it

ppeatfruit · 23/10/2017 13:49

The same applies to Len MrsJayy. I never noticed but I didn't watch it to Harry Judd won it Grin.

ppeatfruit · 23/10/2017 13:53

Blush 'until' Harry won it.

bonfireheart · 23/10/2017 14:26

On the train this morning I saw a poster for a musical theatre show starring Tom Chambers and Caroline Flack. And then at the station I saw another musical theatre this time with Danny Mac. Wonder if being on SCD helped them with getting these roles.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 23/10/2017 14:26

Mother of Scouses

Grin
MrsJayy · 23/10/2017 16:10

Urgh Caroline flack 😕 but yes being on strictly does help them find work Alexandra is so auditiioning for craig.

MrsJayy · 23/10/2017 16:13

Which is fair enough they are performers afterall why shouldn't they get work off the back of strictly except CF she can bugger off Grin

TheLastPeg · 23/10/2017 16:19

Yeah definitely bonfire. I saw SB with Danny mac in recently and he was actually good in it. Is caroline flack an actress though, I thought she was just a presenter?
