I can kind of see both sides with Pete and Jenny with the things they say and do.

What happened to Pete and Jen's son ? He was in the car on the way to the posh event. I reckon Jen could have paid her half of the business diploma fees for her share of the cost of the party and dress.

Adam and the sperm cup - shudder!!! and in bed again - my eyes! Sure - two nubile, gorgeous younger women would be mad about him.

I thought Jen was cruel too - especially in her front room watching Dragons Den when she said perhaps Pete shouldn't be happy - he was suicidially depressed a few months ago - it can take years to recover (if ever). I never bought them as a couple - Jen always seemed to think she could have done better. Their house is huge!

I think Pete met Adam at uni and in the first series (IIRC) was an accountant. In the last series when Adam returned he said he had lost his job - hence the taxi job, but really? There is always work for an accountant (at some level)- don't understand why Pete is portrayed these days as a working class loser.

Aren't they just running exactly the and storyline with Pete and Jen that they did in series 4, when she went to New York?! So they're supposed to have rubbed along for the last 13 years and then suddenly she gets obsessed with business again?!

I enjoyed the script last night but found the plot really contrived. And I still don’t get how the blind date between Karen and the same man Laura met at the hotel in ‘Liar’ came about! What was that about with the newspaper piece at the beginning? I rewound but still didn’t get it!

Adam's a disgrace, David's a simpering fool, Jen is a cowbag, Karen a pretentious manipulator, Pete is being portrayed as a loser but is the nicest of the lot. A big pile of wank really.

I have quite enjoyed this series so far - looking forward to next week. There is surely no way he can explain that away!

I hope Tina leaves him/the show. I'm not keen on the character or the pairing, and the thought of screentime being wasted on those two working out their problems is not appealing. Pete/Jen far more interesting, also David/Nicky. The teenagers are all pretty good too. The dementia storyline will resonate with viewers also. There's loads of great potential.

I agree not keen on Tina at all and hope they do not focus the show on her and Adam working out their problems. Couldn’t bear it. Adams hair is hilarious, it’s very distracting and not in a good way! David and Karen are my favourite characters especially David. Robert Bathurst has got David nailed! Jen is awful to Pete, he just seems so downtrodden.

Pete annoys me though. I can see why Jenny doesn’t want her mum living with them fulltime, but instead of trying to understand that, he just sees it as evidence that she’s a heartless cow. And it’s not down to him if his bloody mil moves in, especially if Jenny doesn’t want it! He’s shown as this sweet,kind hearted man married to a cold hearted businesswoman. But he’s a simpering fool who should back up his wife occasionally

Tina is no substitute for Rachel. Two timing Rachel = unthinkable. Two timing Tina = don't feel you have to stick around until the end of the series.

I don't like her interior decor tastes either.


It was a bit weird how the Irish woman turned up mid-dinner though. Is she absolutely 100% sure that she isn't just out for revenge??

They'll both be pregnant. At least one will debate abortion. Adam will want to lose neither baby. Matt will be disgusted with his dad.

Next season will open with a teaser about which birth Adam has just attended.

Is it just me or have the last two episodes been really badly directed or produced? I wonder if there has been a change in personnel as it didn't hang together well.
There are no Pete and Adam scenes, which are usually good. David and that woman (good couple, I think) deserved a much longer scene too.
The blind date was silly.
The breakup, reconciliation and second breakup with the two teenagers would have been worth watching too. Adam in bed with Tina was something that I would happily have not squirmed over!

I thought the lonelyhearts story was a good example of how out of touch the writer is. Who looks at newspapers anymore to find dates?

The Nikki story has been poorly developed, I think. Couldn’t care less if her and David get together or not. It’s a pity that Siobhan Finneran’s been wasted in this.

I am always surprised that they continue to focus on Adam as the "star" of the show. I am not interested in his frankly unrealistic success with women nor his ridiculous hair.

Siobhan finneran is the best thing about this series. It's very lazily written eg suddenly out if nowhere jenny decides to dump Peter and tells him at his 50th dinner?
Who is this kate people are referring to, I see no kate?

Yes siobhan is understated actress which is a tonic because there's a lot of overacting on cold feet, jenny and adams I'm looking at you.

I'd forgotten how annoying I found Jenny in the original series. It's all come back to me now though - why does she still do that stupid thing where she just lets her mouth hang open?
