Mumdebump I was also thinking Adam seemed to have aged overnight in this episode.

I really identified with Karen tonight, in fact had a meltdown at my teens this week and holed up in my bedroom for the night leaving them to fend for themselves. Would have loved to have gone to a swank you hotel instead but would have worried about leaving the dog.

I think on its own the new series doesn't really stand up to the original ones but because I feel I have a history with these characters and they are my age I am watching it more from a nostalgic point of view.The Adam story lines with all these gorgeous women falling for him are starting to grate as it's just not believable and he is just so annoying now, the cheeky chappy persona in middle age makes him a bit of a twat.

I thought that Hermione and John were brilliant in last night's ep. I love the warmth between them.

Really good episode overall. Lots of David, which is always welcome. Not too much Tina.

I hope that the lecturer isn't going to be Jenny's new love interest.

I just can't get into the new series, I wish I could! I'm still watching it but not enjoying it as much as the original ones. I don't like Tina's character at all. And I'm not a big fan of Adam but don't mind the others.

To a previous poster who asked about Karen's drinking I noticed that she has been drinking soft drinks in all the previous episodes so they have been consistent with that storyline.

I missed this the first time around so I've watched every season before this one started.
Karen had a drink problem quite early on and it was a big story for her. I really like that they've shown that all these years later, she's not pushing the boundary of "just 1" and that it's still a struggle when she's out with her friends - makes it more realistic I think.

I'm just watching last nights episode. I absolutely love David. He's so hapless but good at heart.
And poor Karen, watching her crumble when she's always been so strong. I really like her character, and especially love that Pete could see it and knew how to help her.

Bloody hate Adam in this series. He's too old to be sleeping with so many people and to be so directionless!

Adam has always been insufferable, but it was easier to overlook when Rachel was still alive, as she was the most annoying character on television.

I like David best - he is very funny.

Karen, Pete and Jenny's "houses" are on Kingston Rd in Didsbury, Adam's is on Dene Road. Interiors are studio sets. Prices equivalent to similar sized properties in Sale - also within the magic 5 miles of Manchester City Centre and much easier commutes than Timperley (loved by Kirsty and Phil!) & Altrincham. Prices have doubled since first series & 1990 (?) tho!!

Enjoying it from a nostalgic point of view, but agree that Tina's voice sounds odd, very affected. Adam's face/hair/eyebrows are a strange combination! He'd look much better au naturel.

I wonder if Adam actually had sex with his colleague or it stopped at that kiss which they flashed back to? Either way he's an idiot. Are not alarm bells ringing for him that she is doing this as revenge against the woman who had an affair with her husband? And I'm convinced she is the one who released the sex tape and Adam will find that out.

I thought he'd clocked that it was the woman from work who'd released the tape and that was why he was going after her.

I'm still invested in this but finding the characters increasingly annoying.

Really didn't like tonight's episode. Jenny was so nasty to Pete at his birthday celebration. Fed up with Adam and girlfriend-who's-name-I-can't remember, really don't care what happens with them.
