Looks like Djok's run of bad luck continues, as he's pulled out of Doha now. Which was where last year, he seemed to be getting his head back together.
It's amazing what a difference a year makes, and I've said a couple of times this year, I wish I'd put a bet on the top 10 looking like it does now.
Yesterday , I read Hewitt has teamed up with Jordan Thompson in the doubles in Brisbane. I know he's planning to play doubles in Melbourne., now he's come out of retirement. I like Thompson- he's got lovely eyes . I'm glad Lleyton didn't choose to team up with Kyrgios.
Reflecting on this year, I'm obviously glad that Rafa has done so well, but wish it wasn't at such an expense to his knees.I'd like to think he could carry on for a few more years- Roger has set that standard, obviously- but it's east to forget that Roger was lucky in that his injuries didn't start happening until he was nearly at an age at which most players were planning to retire anyway.
And this year, Del Potro's comeback has been great. More impressive really than Fed's for me (who didn't 'comeback' as such, he chose to take lengthy periods off, as well as being injured).
I wish I'd seen more of players like Ferrer, who I feel like have vanished , and I haven't seen play in years. Which is sad.
And I was glad to see Grigor do well this year- his match against Rafa in Australia was probably one of the matches of the year.
So that was 2017
