So happy for Jura and Will. Yay.

It's so easy watching from a distance and see it's blindingly obvious what they're doing wrong! I think imaybe because they'vecpicked first time dog owners to be on the show. No doubt if there was footage of us with our first ddog as novices 10 years ago we would look totally inexperienced as well and doing loads wrong.

What us that child (Isadora), is doing to tgat poor dog, leave her alone! Why are the parents standing there doing nothing, and letting that child annoy that dog. Tgey should be on top of it, and be firm with Isadora. Claire, Lola's owner, shoukd go on a training course, or go to an dog behaviourist. I am glad Louise is on board.

Aeroflotgirl · 03/08/2017 22:09

The only sensible person is Jura's trainer.

tallfox · 03/08/2017 22:23

Not sure I'd be rushing to share a bed with a wacking great dog that enjoyed a bit of humping.

I am glad I poppies owners are getting it now. That lady in the flat shoukd not be having a big dog, she has no space.

CallMeKate · 03/08/2017 22:32

Isadora's parents needing handing a serious grip. I can't believe they stood and watched adoringly as their 3 year old manhandled the puppy and wouldn't give it peace to sleep. I lost count of the times they told the children to leave Poppy alone when she was in her crate but they continued to annoy her.

Delia doesn't have a clue about dog ownership and I doubt her story will end well.

I absolutely adored Lola and her owner made me laugh.

I really enjoyed seeing how much they'd grown and `I hope for Poppy's sake her owners have had a reality check on closely children need to be supervised near puppies.

CallMeKate · 03/08/2017 22:33

As for the drooling dog on the bed, WTF? Who does that?

Aeroflotgirl · 03/08/2017 22:39

Delia does not have a bloody clue. Fir her, a dog is an accessory. I think it ended well for Poppy, as her owners finally understood. Also for Lola too.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 03/08/2017 22:43

My dogs sleep on the bed, one drools the other one doesn't. I don't not mind.

I was surprised Delia found a puppy so quickly and I do worry how it's all going to end.

I thought isadora got it in the end, but the parents were really useless

Nonibaloni · 03/08/2017 22:48

I was concerned that the woman who wanted a big dog (I am the worst for names) didn't take 1 for a walk. A 35kg lab can pull me off my feet, Danes I've met were very low energy but still rippling muscle. And I was put of giant breed for life when a St. Bernard went for "biscuit pocket" and had no recall (it got all the biscuits).
I assume she walked them, and ok she getting a pup so will grow with them but I hate the idea it's as easy as having a double bed!

viques · 03/08/2017 22:50

Shame the flat lady was not asked to take the huge dogs for decent walks, and to practise clearing up their giant poos. I get the feeling that weeing and pooing and clearing up is not something she will manage well.

Isadora is a spoilt little girl, and the older brother and sister were no better, the way they dragged that poor puppy around was appalling.just as well their mother has 'stopped breeding' as she so delicately put it, Isadora and a baby would be a disaster.

summersgoneaway · 03/08/2017 22:56

So cute

Aeroflotgirl · 03/08/2017 22:58

Viques that's an awful thing to say about a 3 year old preschooler! Tge fault lies with the adults, not the children.

passmethewineplease · 03/08/2017 23:07

Let's remember the child is 3.

They have no clue.

It's down to the parents. Labelling a 3 year old a brat is a bit much.

Blame the parents.

MrsBotox · 04/08/2017 08:01

Glad it's not just me. I was swearing at TV when Poppy's dad twatted on while child manhandled the pup. This programme is irresponsible imo as it presents pups as commodities. Delia needs to get a grip - how can you house-train a puppy in an upstairs flat?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 04/08/2017 08:25

Of course the fault is with the parents, for raising her to be a spoiled child. Because she was.

olliegarchy99 · 04/08/2017 09:10

I have just lost my lovely rescue dog to old age and I did not want to watch this program but found myself enraged that people get a 'cute' puppy so lightly when there are so many older dogs abandoned in rescues.
There really should be compulsory education for new puppy owners before they lay hands on a small canine being.
I had to check this was Beeb 2 not channel 5 as they seemed to have picked extreme examples Shock
The mountain rescue dog was adorable (and her owner was seriously committed to doing the best for her. )
Lola was adorable and thankfully her owner saw sense (eventually)
But the woman in the flat who wanted any 'big dog' for reasons I could not comprehend - I was horrified.
Poppy the spaniel was eventually left alone (should always allow dogs to sleep undisturbed) and seemed to have a happy life in their huge garden. What I did not understand is why the parents were so ineffectual in stopping the children from 'tormenting' (which they saw as playing I suppose) the poor puppy. Put puppy in crate and secure the door so 3 year old could not get her out again. Was that so hard?

MrsBotox · 04/08/2017 09:35

ollie - That's sad. I hope you rescue another when you feel able. Re programe - I so agree (I have had two rescue dogs so far and one adopted baby human) Smile.

CheeseAtFourpence · 04/08/2017 11:12

Pedro last week was a rescue - still a pup I think at 7 months old. I love my 8 year old dearly but would never get a puppy again. I do think they're trying to get a message across that it's not easy to have a puppy and it doesn't go to plan, hence the contract that Lola's family has drawn up last week that lasted 5 minutes.

AlessandroVasectomi · 04/08/2017 11:16

I had to switch channels after half an hour of it as I couldn't stand to see any more of how Lola and Poppy were being treated and how bloody stupid the Great Dane woman was. I should have realised that it would have a happy(ish) ending but my love of dogs wouldn't let me watch much of this sort of programme.

passmethewineplease · 04/08/2017 14:20

Just catching up now.

Isadoras parents are the most half hearted parents I've ever seen.

Just a general whine of oh don't do that.
