I agree that no-one has a 'right' to rule the 7 kingdoms. I just think it's interesting that those who think they have the best 'claim' - simply by birthright - actually may not.

Personally, I hope the iron throne ends up as a molten heap of slag.

PhuntSox · 01/08/2017 20:49

They will physically and metaphorically dismantle the throne to use the Valerian steel on the night king.

Middleoftheroad · 01/08/2017 21:07

It's been pointed out that Sansa will go through maester Lewin's raven letters in next week show, hence the references to her wedding night. Now who was responsible for pairing her up with Ramsay 'Chum' Boulton? Oh yeh, Petyr Pettigrew Baelish, Littlefinger (up the bum?)

yumyumpoppycat · 01/08/2017 21:25

Sansa knew that about littlefinger Envy (boak what an image) arranged the wedding didn't she? Good point that Bran may have been reminding her (if she needed reminding) about what a scumbag littlefinger is.

So if the iron throne is dismantled, where IS it all going. What is the point of the white walkers, is it some sort of history metaphor? Or is it some kind of chess thing, Jon is surrounded by enemies and can't get out.

Trills · 01/08/2017 21:28

I think Bran knew that Littlefinger arranged the wedding, but perhaps the letters will reveal that Littlefinger knew what Ramsay was like?

Trills · 01/08/2017 21:29

*Sansa knew

yumyumpoppycat · 01/08/2017 21:34

Yes. That would be grim if she does find that.

Caster gave his sons to the night king; and the army of the dead is mainly an army of blue eyed men, is this some kind of ww2? I like to draw conclusions like this based on very little substance Blush

twattymctwatterson · 01/08/2017 21:44

The throne isn't Valyrian Steel though. It was made of the swords of the enemies of Aegon the conqueror. There were It's really distinctive looking and beautiful. The Iron Throne is an ugly twisted thing.

I know it was forged with dragon fire but it takes more than just the flame to make VS

both the "finger up the bum" and "twat" comments jarred massively

Who said 'twat'-I must have missed that?! I rather liked Diana's Rigg's c-word though!

Euron called Theon a twat whilst talking to Yara.

Could Yara maybe rescue Yallaria and Tyene still? They said the poison could take days!!! Or is that the last of the dorne ladies.

Also did anybody else that watched thronecast last night just want Grace Dent to stfu. She really irritates me and kept chomping on about women being rescued by a "Prince Charming" seriously you are sitting between Simon Neil and Kristian Nairn and not one of them can get a word in edge ways for your constant gibberish. Hmm

ZacharyQuack · 02/08/2017 01:04

Euron said Theon was such a twat. He's not wrong.

My prediction for next week is that Jamie invaded Highgarden for their gold, which he needs to take back to Kings Landing to pay the Bravos bank. Dany's army is going to capture the gold and take Jamie prisoner, which will lead to discussions between Dany, Tyrion and Jamie and will be the catalyst for Jamie to admit to himself that Cersei's a monster so he'll turn against her.

I'm also hoping that Jorah will turn up at Dragonstone while Jon's still there, so that he can tell Jon that his greyscale was cured by a brother in the Nights Watch at the Citadel Smile

Middleoftheroad · 02/08/2017 07:30

Not sure Jorah will be happy at the growing relationship between Jon and Dany.

Jorah's always been a favourite of mine and I wonder what his role is? To unite the.north with Dany a bit? , But there's no love lost between him and his people.

Remind me if Jorah has Longclaw? Can't recall who gave it to him, saying 'it is rightfully yours.' Has he already met somebody who has seen the walkers and told him how it was used to kill a walker who was coming for his father, Mormont? If so, he can convince Dany of the whites.

I think there will be more focus on those swords now Widow's Wail was mentioned. Also, as Jorah was a stone man nearly, afflicted in Valyria? maybe he is immune somehow to the walkers.

Trills · 02/08/2017 07:34

Jorah should go find Lyanna Mormont and pledge to her and promise to do everything she says.

He's used to following a younger woman.

Middleoftheroad · 02/08/2017 07:36

I do love Jorah, bar the creepy stalking...

AryaUnderfoot · 02/08/2017 07:39

Middle Longclaw was the Valyrian steel sword of house Mormont. Jorah gave it back to Jeor when he went into exile.

Jeor gave it to Jon after Jon saved him from the Wight attack in S1/book 1.

Valyrian steel swords are a major status symbol in Westeros.

Randyll Tarly seems to have had a major case of amnesia over the fact that Sam stole Hearsbane. Book Randyll would have sent Faceless Men after him to get it back!

Middleoftheroad · 02/08/2017 07:46

Thanks Arya - was getting confused with all the focus on the sword in previous episode (when it was pointing towards him killing himself with it).

Of course Jon still has Longclaw (but no Ghost?)

Randall comes from the Tywin school of fatherhood Sad

AryaUnderfoot · 02/08/2017 07:49

Bookk Randyll Tarly always reminds me of Dolores Umbridge. He is really good at keeping order in Maidenpool and dealing with outlaws/rapists, but he's just so....... horrid.

AryaUnderfoot · 02/08/2017 07:51

So disappointed at the lack of Ghost this season. Sad
