9pm
ITV.
Adapted by the mighty Andrew Davies.
The Observer gives it a good review.
Hopefully a big improvement on last week's Mansfield Park.

I thought catherine was too annoying for words. She appeared to have had her brain surgically removed and stared at everyone with the most vacant expression I've ever seen. Yes, she's supposed to be young and naive but I don't remember the book saying she was unable to blink or close her mouth

Henry Tilney I agree was not 'strong' enough though he was better than catherine.

Again I felt this didn't match the previous version with Peter Firth as Tilney and an actress I can't remember as Catherine; that was brilliant.

I remember that one vaguely sunny - I am sort of thinking either Clara Salaman or Catherine Schlesinger as Catherine Morland.
I do love Peter Firth! RPJ probably has no idea that he is not the most lusted-after in Spooks.
He was good in Casanova though, and to look on the bright side, all of the ITV adaptations are a David Tennant free zone

I loved it last night, thought they got the tone just right. Thought Henry was gorgeous. A nice surprise after how shit Mansfield Park was last week - what was all that about, how shit could it get?

Ah, now, Marina, I luurrrvve David Tennant.

that's her marina, it was Catherine Schlesinger. She was good, didn't try to ACT naive, Catherine's actions and opinions are what show that, you don't have to try and 'look' it.

Am very excited about this. I once directed Felicity Jones (plays Catherine) in a school play.
