Anyone watch? Think it could be quite good.

OP posts:

In UK we've had one more since her arrest in US, holly - and still not finished (think there's one more).

hollyisalovelyname · 12/07/2017 16:37

Thank you.
I think it's good.

Clawdy · 12/07/2017 23:02

That scene between John Bishop and Helen M was horrendous. His acting was even worse than before, and the idea of them ever being a couple is just laughable.

hollyisalovelyname · 13/07/2017 10:23

Clawdy I agree ( sadly) because I like John Bishop
(from what I've seen of him, which isn't a whole lot).

Fiderer · 13/07/2017 14:02

I've only seen John Bishop on the Graham Norton show. He is really is miscast & totally awful in this.

And the no contact for 3 weeks (bar one Skype?) is really shit. Wonder who wrote that bit of the script. Think the whole script was written by different people & then they just mix & matched before filming.

hollyisalovelyname · 14/07/2017 21:00

Anyone else think Jamie Bamber is easy on the eye?

MintToBee · 15/07/2017 10:24

It's pretty sure but I'm persevering.
I think Bamber is the killer.

hollyisalovelyname · 15/07/2017 13:49

I think Bamber was driving too. I think his wife might be the missing girl they want to contact who was friendly with the murder victim. I'm hopeless with the characters names on a show that airs only once a week. Blush

Beeziekn33ze · 17/07/2017 22:15

Still confused. My main questions:
Was it Emma's father/parents who showed her the photo of her lover Nathan with 'his wife and child'? How did Nathan die?
Who buried poor Linda alive or did they all assume that she was dead? Was it deliberate to ensure her silence? In which case how exactly did they keep her shocked friend Rachel quiet? The last one is a plot hole I realise.

All that apart I think we should have a Banville series! In spite of my confusion it kept me watching for 6 weeks. She might even make a good Dr Who!

Optimist1 · 17/07/2017 22:23

Someone tell the adoption agencies not to let that woman adopt a child! This week an emotionally fragile teenager turns up at her house, she says she'll phone his Mum to tell her he's staying the night, finds him a sleeping bag and buggers off to meet Mrs Leader of the Opposition leaving him alone because John Bishop's sloped off to the pub. Hmm

blankface · 17/07/2017 23:37

Why didn't the bomb go off? We saw it being wired into her car's ignition.

Did I blink and miss someone defuse it?

hollyisalovelyname · 19/07/2017 22:55

Who defused the bomb ?

MissEliza · 19/07/2017 22:59

It's really sloppy that they couldn't explain who defused the bomb and how Emma was so sure she'd be safe when this plan was apparently only formulated at the last minute

hollyisalovelyname · 20/07/2017 09:34

Excuse my stupidity but what went on in the cafe with the men?
Were we to assume Emma's work partner diffused the bomb- he was really worried about her.

CarbonMint · 20/07/2017 14:11

I take it this was written by the same team behind Paula!
So confusing!

hollyisalovelyname · 21/07/2017 13:08

Could anyone answer my questions of 19/7 at 22.55 and 20/7 at 9.34 please?

Twistmeandturnme · 21/07/2017 13:25

It's really sloppy that they couldn't explain who defused the bomb and how Emma was so sure she'd be safe when this plan was apparently only formulated at the last minute
It wasn't formulated last minute: the police woman had already warned Emma that as she had been threatened 'they' would make it look like an islamist attack so she should be very careful. The moment she got the call to meet Rachel she was on the phone to the police to let them know the time and place...meanwhile:
what went on in the cafe with the men? Were we to assume Emma's work partner diffused the bomb- he was really worried about her.
An undercover police officer was watching one of the known US contacts (likely assassin) in the café: he cleared his table of clues when he left and followed him out.
Then, once Emma's call came in and the assassin was followed separately to the same location, the police just waited until the bomber left and then disabled the bomb, waiting around the corner until Emma's wire tap revealed the truth, before turning on their flashy lights and arresting everyone.
