Just watching the night garden for the first time and come to the conclusion it is the Teletubbies the 2000's! Upsy Daisy = Dipsy, the little one with the scooter is Po, and the blue on is Tinky Winky!

I love this!

Think the Pontypines are fab, wonder if we will find out who lives next door, it could be a bit like Lost for toddlers, perhaps the Pontypines are trapped and can't get out and they have still to find out who the 'others' are.

VoluptuaGoodshag · 22/03/2007 12:11

My two love it but I think it's just weird

Jenkeywoo · 22/03/2007 17:44

DD 2.5 loves upsadaisy and we've watched it 4 times today (sky+) - it is so long, I can't get my head round it and find it so dull.. but I guess it's not aimed at adults!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 22/03/2007 17:55

Total Teletubby rip-off. It is weird, and DD2 watched it for a bit, but lost interest. It is very long - I turned it off. (And she didn't care)

WestCountryLass · 22/03/2007 21:02

Both my 5.5 and 2.9 year old love this They were both wetting themselves laughing and found it highly amusing

I have been playing the games on the website - I particularly like collecting the birds and making them make music

I was one of those who complained when Teletubbies first came out (because it took over the slot previously occupied by Playdays and I hadn't twigged that the target audience was so young!) but now I am used to the way these progs work I am finding this one very appealing, and Derek Jacobi has the perfect voice for it.

Anyone want to lend me a toddler to watch it with?

dd2 was watching this today and she actually sat still from beginning to end, an incredible feat I should point out. So if it keeps her still for a while she can watch it all she wants.

I thought it looked quite good, very teletubbies as people have said, but I didn't watch it all I took advantage of the peace and got the dishes done without a helper, lol

booge · 22/03/2007 22:10

DS is transfixed by it and so am I

Gingememorechocolateeggs · 22/03/2007 22:12

I think the birds are a bit creepy but ds(2.11) loves it. I think hes watched it twice and knows all the names of the little creatures. Definately an updated Teletubbies. Bring it on!!!!

my dd who is nearly 2 and a half knows all the names but she had only watched it twice too and she is ssoo quiet too

sockmonkey · 23/03/2007 14:13

DS1 has seen it 3 times, and knows all the names. It's bonkers!
Much as it's awful, the boys love it. I have never known both of them sit so still to watch anything like this before. It's sooo suited to the bedtime hour, it really chills them out.

imaginaryfriend · 23/03/2007 14:15

My dd (4.5) watched 2 mintues of it and said snootily 'this is for babies. Not for grown up little girls' so we turned it off. I wish it wasn't on for so long and every night, it's destroyed that nice bedtime hour slot for us.

USAUKMum · 23/03/2007 14:55

My DS (2.8) loves this --knows all the names already. Thankfully DD (6) also likes it. It does look all soft and comforting....

KathyMCMLXXII · 23/03/2007 16:08

Watched this today.... it nearly sent me to sleep though unfortunately not dd.
I love Maccawacca's little underground house - it reminded me of those neolithic (?) stone houses in the Orkneys.
I want to move in and go to sleep. Sleeeeep....

lucykate · 23/03/2007 16:10

it's the teletubbies on acid

i can now empathise with my parents generation and how the magic roundabout was first recieved

lucykate · 23/03/2007 16:12

what has happened to the bbc?, the new programmes they are introducing on cbeebies are most definatley a bit

me too is total tripe

sockmonkey · 23/03/2007 19:04

Me too is the absolute worst thing on Cbeebies. It's making me mad just thinking about it.

Better go and watch night garden to calm down

SueBaroo · 27/03/2007 11:46

Whoever asked about toys for this, apparently Hasbro have the contract and are bringing out the toys around autumn time.

I am so looking foward to getting my own tombly-boos to snuggle with

sorkycake · 27/03/2007 11:50

I've just seen this for the first time today, my 2 have already seen it (presumably with daddy) and knew all the names.
It was very pleasant I have to say. Those little red things are pretty cute!
Bet they'll make a killing on the toys. Felt sorry for the one who has to sleep on a boat tho'.

OrmIrian · 27/03/2007 11:54

I loved it. But I like surreal seemingly drug-induced kids programmes . Anyone remember some weird Canadian hokum called Polka Dot Shorts? Was on back in 1999 when DD was born - kids and I loved it, DH thought it was too strange.

OrmIrian · 27/03/2007 11:56

kathy - me too! The Orkneys houses I mean. Scara Brae or something like that. I spend the whole programme trying to remember it;s name. And I studied British archaeology too

trice · 27/03/2007 12:10

my dd (18 months) can now say "daddy", "mama" and "upsy daisy".

It is a lovely program, designed to entrance tiny minds for 30 mins. Really good for bedtime.
