Anyone else find Ben Fogle annoying?

I can't work out how he gets presenting work, he is rubbish. He sounds really wooden and makes loads of mistakes.

"Strength of character?"? no, getting up three times in the night every night for 18 months with a bf baby (for example) shows character. All that bloody rowing just demonstrates (a) that he has nothing better to do and (b) that he is an insane self-publicist.

I think Ben Fogle's rather sweet. Kind of tim-nice-but-dim.

I agree he's a tim-nice-but-dim, nearly.

I don't find that type sweet though. Not even with blond highlights and the latest young man's hairdo.

DP and I broke down while on safari in Namibia. Ben fogle was filming there and him and his crew drove past and stopped to help us out. He was soooo nice and friendly. I do not think he is a great presenter but he is a genuinely nice guy.

Oh Artichoke, for a moment I thought this was going to be a 'Ben Fogle is really a b*stard' story..... 'We broke down in Namibia and Ben Fogle wouldn't give us a tow....' if you ever watch fogly programmes like longleat safari park and crufts, you might have seen him, ae. Maybe you just don't watch fogly programmes. You are lucky.

lol = sorry Kathy, it would have made a better story... i was really impressed actually as he had filming commitments but stayed to help us and tell us where to spot some lion cubs. if only he had mooned.

did you watch that marooned on A Scottish island, castaway programme years ago, ae? That's when he first appeared on the box.

If not doing so already, Fogle will appear on Antiques Roadshow, SOng of Praise, Flog It - and anything else mildly depressing - in teh next five years.

Yes he's so posh he probably knows about antiques - very posh people do, it's in their genes.

I absolutely agree that he's sweet in a Tim-nice-but-dim way. He's very soppy about the dogs and I find that endearing

I mentioned to my friends that I like BF and they all kept quiet. Didn't know why then ... now I know!
Still, I think he's rather sweet and now that some have posted that he is a genuine nice guy, I do like him more. Although I have to say that I didn't think highly of his time with that Big Bro Vanessa.

I bet the only reason he didn't moon at ArtichokeTagine was that he was thinking of his career on Songs of Praise.

But who else falls into the Fogly category? I can't abide that Alan Titchmarsh - he appears on everything, even the blardy Proms for gawd's sake.
