Absolutely loving it. MrsLH has traditionally been a touch wary of sci-fi/fantasy, but 21 years together, and I think she's getting it .

I think the script helps - it's very darkly funny, and we both have a very odd sense of humour at times.

Did anyone else recognise Mad Sweeny as Nick Sobotka from "The Wire" or did you get help from IMBD ?

Laura is a much more compelling character than Shadow.

Yes, LH - I recognised him. The Wire is my all time favourite show along with The West wing.

What I didn't know was that he is Ray Donovan's brother.

Mad Sweeney is also Pornstache from Orange is the New Black! Wouldn't have recognised him from The Wire.

Am I the onky one watching? Tbf it took me half a series to get into, up until that point I was just confused. I still think it feels as though the book is simply too big to fit into TV so I feel like I'm only getting a snapshot of the full deal. For this reason I'm inspired to read the book!

I agree with PPs that shadow moon is a bit forgettable for a main character. He comes across as weak, a pawn who just makes token shows of resistance but backs down, so repeatedly its dull. I dong give mych of a shit what he does at this point, i'm more interested in what his wife's up to.

Love mad sweeney and hope he comes back, seems possible! Confused as to how/why a god/fairy leaves a meat corpse behind though? Also a bit confused as to his backstory. IS he genuinely 'mad'? Or pretending not to remember? Seems weird for a god/faory to 'go mad' like a human...
