I've noticed that, throughout season 7a, before the big reveal that Mary was Spencer's mom, they were pushing it in our faces; the sudden "closeness and concern " that Spencer shows towards Ali, etc. There's one scene that I saw yesterday and gave myself a mental kick for not noticing it before. The first time Mary meets Spencer, they're chatting, and their positions mirror each other EXACTLY! Arms folded, even their faces at the same angle.
My point is (finally! Sorey about the rambling 😂) I agree totally about the fact that they're really pushing the twin thing. They're not above "in your face" clues at all. They're bastards for red herrings, but no way is this one.
Mona with glasses is ftting in with the high school thinf, isn't it? As is the fact that Lucas doesn't have anything to offer Hanna any more, Aria The Destructer (remember her dad's office?) Insecure Spencer, Emily and Ali both having dramas with their sexuality (totally what the Egg Robbing thing symbolizes- pregnancy=sexual thing, no?). There were signs of this even in 7a- on at least two occasions, Hanna was shown compulsively eating (once when (Spencer? Emily? Can't remember) told her there was someone else's lipstick on the fork, and again when Aria told her to put the ice cream carton in the kitchen and she took it out of the waste basket and started eating it again (she then caught Emily injecting herself).
The Nicole situation meant that Eggra and Aria had to be discreet and secretive- just like in The Old Days.
Ashley shagging Hanna's problems away- blast from the past
A cop who got just that bit too close to someone involved in the case (ok, so Marco isn't a twat like Wilden was, but the comparison is still there).
And Mona being pushed out of the group, yet longing to be involved.
Why are they taking us back to Season 1? There must be SOMETHING that was left unanswered in the time before Mona was outed as A...
I think it has something to do eith Maya. I really do. She's the only link I can thing of. Has she been in hiding all these years instead of dead?
Oh and, in the books, Jenna is an extremely talented artist. There has been similarities to the books in the tv series: I think Jenna is making the masks.
For some reason, I can't see MD as a villain any more! I'm sort of rooting for her now!
Sorry for the mammoth post- just one more point 😂. We've seen Aria all A'd up over thw last few weeks: but how do we know that one of the others hasn't been forced to cause havoc too? Not Hanna- way back in S3.2 (I think) she point-blank refused to betray Aria, didn't she?
