I was chanbel hopping and stumbled on BGT..Well that was a new low even for BGT.
That dog yoga was she for real? Who does she think is going to pay to watch her do that? the dog looked like it was embarrassed and wanted to leave.
And that 26yr old (yeah right!) Magician dear God. And they both got through really? the programme is a joke now. Bloody insult to people with real talent.

Sparklingbrook · 15/04/2017 22:20

There just doesn't seem to be anything different any more. Singers/magicians/dance troupes, weird dog acts, we've seen it all before.

MusicToMyEars800 · 15/04/2017 22:20

no one said she wasn't good Confused she was making an odd sound with her mouth whilst singing

Sparkling its getting tired isn't it, but there will always be new and younger people tuning in so I think it will always have an audience

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 15/04/2017 22:25

Yes, I am wondering if I am the target audience-I suspect not. But I keep tuning in and moaning in the hope that one act will come along and I will be bowled over. Grin

My teenagers who I would have thought are the target audience never watch it.

MusicToMyEars800 · 15/04/2017 22:27

teenagers have got better things to do though haven't they, like facebook and hanging out with mates Grin

Sparklingbrook · 15/04/2017 22:28

Yes true. So really the BGT target audience is young children and pensioners probably. Grin

Wh0Kn0wsWhereTheTimeGoes · 15/04/2017 22:35

I watched it for the first time in years tonight, the DCs loved it, I thought most of the acts were a crock of shite, especially the dog yoga and the bloke with the trailing extension lead. The girl at the end had an amazing voice for a 15 yo.

MusicToMyEars800 · 15/04/2017 22:36

pensioners must be, my mum is 70 and easily entertained Grin ( sorry mum ) she loves the show

Ah thank you! Never heard it before but it sounded like it should be Celine/Whitney/ appropriate big voiced female

kingscrossnoodle · 15/04/2017 22:50

She sang with a bloody attitude. She doesn't have the life experience required to sing that song the way it is intended.

Rachel0Greep · 15/04/2017 22:59

I abandoned it after the woman doing doga... Hmm

laylabelle · 15/04/2017 23:02

The bad acts do make me miss the days of chopping wood and darlek man.. Though the guy did put effort into the little masks!

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 15/04/2017 23:12

Just watching now on catch up. Did not like the precocious little boy with the sexist joke. WTF. he's gonna be lauded as some sort of prodigy isn't he! No one was as funny as Jack a few years back who was runner up, don't remember his surname but he had cerebral palsy

HollyJollyDillydolly · 15/04/2017 23:27

Haha. Doga and ant/decs dog pissing all over the stage then another dog peeing on David Walliams shoes Grin

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 15/04/2017 23:35

I also hate the contrived conversations and audience 'spontaneous' reactions. It feels like half the show consists of audience members saying "ooh what's this".

And maybe I'm getting a little long in the tooth but I don't find people dressing up in silly costumes and rubbing their bums to pop songs neither funny nor talented. The way the judges shriek with exaggerated laughter really gets on my tits

MusicToMyEars800 · 15/04/2017 23:43

cherry I am with completely on that, it drives me mad! the way the camera focuses on one particular audience member throughout the audition gets on my nerves.

Ooh just seen the last act. I agree I wasn't crazy about her too many bad habits. But then I loathe shouty songs, the one time I watched Dreamgirls I had to knock it off as it gave me a bloody migraine! Awful!

Riversleep · 16/04/2017 00:16

There seems to be a real lack of talent now for these shows. The acts seem to get longer on telly, and the truly terrible are put through. Putting the warbly singer on at the end is so predictable but Im sure they never let them sing whole song before. Whoever at that missing persons charity who had the idea to go on bgt was a genius. What a good way to get your message across. Especially for something like that with the pictures. I'd forgotten that Claudia Lawrence was still missing Sad

Sunnymeg · 16/04/2017 09:53

They shouldn't have given the boy who told jokes (in my opinion, he's not a comedian) any air time at all. The reference to Amanda Holden was disgraceful.

Ineedagoodusername · 16/04/2017 17:57

I missed the comedian what was his second joke and how old was he?

Ineedagoodusername · 16/04/2017 17:59

Sexist not second!!

MusicToMyEars800 · 16/04/2017 18:16

Indeed he started by saying he didn't know why everyone was so impressed with the talking dog act last year, because Amanda Holdens been on it for years.

The boy comedian was 8. I thought his sketch was pretty vile and shouldn't have been shown. It's was his father using his son. Here it is here

MusicToMyEars800 · 16/04/2017 18:19

daily It wasn't funny at all, it was obviously written by his dad.
