I HATE HATE HATE Me Too on Cbeebies. It is soooo annoying! Granny Murray is an idiot and everyone else is just weird! Also I hate the new Fireman Sams, they are just awful. Why mess with Norman Price? He was the best character!

Do dd and I watch too much TV? Yes, I think we do!!

Oh come off it stacy, how can you say he acts like a paedophile? How does a paedophile act, when he's not actively perpetrating crimes against children? How horrible.

beckybrastraps · 16/03/2007 19:14

I believe they are often to be found dressed as a clown and communicating in makaton...

Mercy · 16/03/2007 19:15

Exacty GS - you said what I was going to say.

Stacey, sorry but those sort of comments are not funny.

jollymum · 16/03/2007 19:25

Justin is great, yes he acts a bit weird BUT when he does the signing progammes it's very true to life. I don't care if he's gay or not - if you have worked with or watched deaf peoole sign, it's very dramatic/emotinal and to non-deaf people, over the top. I hero worshipped Dave Benson Philips because he taught so many signs to littlies. In reality he's an oldish man, a bit grey looking who shouldn't have to be doing holiday camps to make a living. I met him and told him who I was and why his programmes had inspired me and the kids I work with. I felt so sad that he had to charge me for a poster and signature and felt that he was a really good guy.I really hate teletubbies and I really like bits and bobs. Dora is OK, loads of little ones talking in Spanish and Spongebob is full of adult stuff

dingdongjustforyoufg · 16/03/2007 19:32

I find Juston irritating but like others am at staceym's comment below...and with a pic of 'sexy' dd in profile - how can a child that age be 'sexy' to anyone other than a paedolphile?!

dingdongjustforyoufg · 16/03/2007 19:32

apols for crap spelling!

Bloody hell, sad state of affairs when a seemingly lovely, gentle, happy kids' TV presenter gets labelled like this. Who would you prefer to present Something Special? Someone nice and "masculine" like Gordon Ramsay?

jollymum · 16/03/2007 19:57

Can i just say that if Justin is gay or whatever, he is still entitled to be a great role model for kids signing and TBH he won't be on the best presenters list if he's on the paed list!?

staceym11 · 16/03/2007 21:05

i will apologised for what i said and just because i made a silly comment on what i feel to be an odd person i do not need to be personally attacked, i can call my own dd sexy if i so feel like it, i dont mean it in a sexual way but in that she is good looking.

as i said im sorry i made a silly comment but personal attacks like this are why people find MN such a hostile place, iv been here for 2 years now and to get these kind of comments is hurtful to say the least!

Greensleeves · 16/03/2007 21:10

I don't think anyone is out to hurt you personally staceym11, I think people just have strong opinions on what you said. And most people do think it's inappropriate to refer to a small child as "sexy". Of course you can call her that if you want to, but surely you can understand that this is a public forum, and that some people can't understand why anyone would want to call a little girl "sexy". This doesn't constitute a personal attack on you IMO.

MascaraOHara · 16/03/2007 21:12

I love Justin.

staceym11 · 16/03/2007 21:13

yes it is a personal attack as you are talking about the way i describe my child, to me she is the sexiest little girl in the world, the same as i would say she is the most beautiful girl in the world, and the prettiest girl in the world, it is another way of me expressing how beautiful she is, not in the way some of you seem to be taking it!

Greensleeves · 16/03/2007 21:15

It's not a question of the way we are taking it, the word has a meaning - "sexy" means "sexually appealing", which to many people is a shocking and inappropriate way to refer to a little girl. Nobody is calling you names or being abusive to you. But it's a bit rich for you to be accusing someone of being on the paedophile register - with no evidence whatsoever - when you are labelling your toddler as "sexy" on the www!

She's not nexy stacey, she's a child, and wrongful use of the word sexy leads to little girls not knowing how to behave approriately when they come to understand what 'sexy' means.

You put 'Sexiest little girls' into google, and count how many of those links are lovely cute pictures of someone's family photographs.

On second thoughts, don't. Really, don't.

staceym11 · 16/03/2007 21:21

i am leaving this convo now as i am feeling attacked, as i have said i apologise for a silly comment!

Mercy · 16/03/2007 21:23

wasn't there another thread re the word sexy a while ago, and it turned out to be a Bristol (???) word for something meant in a tottaly different way?

i have apologised, what more can i do?

luciemule · 16/03/2007 21:26

I have never, when I was younger or even now, understood Rhubarb and Custard. Is it me or is it just weird or is it just boring and I switch off - therefore not understanding it?
Loving the male presenters they're getting to read the bedtime hour and junior Jackonory stories though - quite fit some of them, especially the bloke from Robin Hood (can't remember his name). He does lots of them - quite yummy!

ArcticRoll · 16/03/2007 21:27

Sorry I do feel it is completely inappropriate to refer to your young daughter as 'sexy'stacey.
It's not a personal attack but just feel you shouldn't use such a term imo.

MrsGumby · 16/03/2007 21:38

Well played, Luciemule, for attempting to lighten up this debate (that started off so innocuously!!!).

Thinkstoomuch · 16/03/2007 21:45

Not that it matters either way, but I know from someone that knows him that Justin is not gay.
Stacey - thinks have taken an unexpected turn and it must be upsetting for you but I hope you'll think about what people have said.

binker · 16/03/2007 21:53

Can I just say how much I like 'Me too' on CBeebies - I watch it with a little girl I look after.
