Well what do we reckon?

who the heck is Noel Fielding?
Prue and Sandi OK.......ish.
Won't be putting myself out to watch it tbh.

ppeatfruit · 18/03/2017 15:49

There's a sweet fairhaired, with a fringe, comedian ( I don't know his name) but he was often on Extra Slice and on Would I Lie to you. He's unassuming and youngish. He would've been ok.

SherlockPotter · 18/03/2017 15:55

@P1nkP0ppy he was in the Mighty Boosh with Julian Barrett

P1nkP0ppy · 18/03/2017 16:01

I'm still none the wiser! It comes from being another generation I fear 😊
[slinks off to Google 😕]

TheSilveryPussycat · 18/03/2017 20:31

There was a rumour going the rounds on t'internet a few month ago that the Chuckle Brothers were going to host it.

Now that I would definitely watch Grin

TheSilveryPussycat · 18/03/2017 20:33

Bit old and wrinkly now though, eh?

TizzyDongue · 18/03/2017 20:39

@P1nkP0ppy you are not alone. I had to look him up (as I didn't know this Might Bosch either). I think I've seen him on some chat/quiz show (and found him the wannabe eccentric as described above)

I like Sandi Toskvig (she did Call My Bluff didn't she?). But no clue who Pru is!!

ppeatfruit · 19/03/2017 09:19

Tizzy You'd only know Pru Leith if you're a foodie. We went to her restaurant many years ago, it was fab. And she's a judge\taster on Masterchef. I don't watch MC very much it's too heavy IYSWIM.

I'm going to give it a chance. I like all the presenters as individuals but not sure how well they will work together.
Regarding NF, he is a bit marmite but has definite childlike qualities so if he doesn't play up to an audience I imagine he might be quite good (and he is hot! Blush)

ppeatfruit · 19/03/2017 09:36

Yes redfairy Me too, it'll be interesting to see how they all get along, shame it's not live Grin

Love Sandi, not sure about the rest. Will watch out of curiosity I suppose.,

WhiskyChick · 19/03/2017 10:37

I won't be watching. I like Noel Fielding but I just can't see him have the warmth of Mel and Sue. It's exactly what I expected from Channel 4 though

CalmItKermitt · 19/03/2017 10:37

I don't mind Sandy but her plummy archness might grate after a while.

Can't stand Noel. There's no way he'll be able to resist all that tiresome wackiness and that face would put anyone off their food. I find him genuinely uncomfortable to look at.

ppeatfruit · 19/03/2017 11:05

NF thinks he can cook too! He may be able to but like Whisky I don't think he'll be warm\easy enough with the contestants.

OP posts:
ShelaghTurner · 19/03/2017 11:11

Love Sandi and like Pru but no idea who NF is. He looks like a relative of Russell Brand so that's enough to put me off. Wasn't going to watch it, still undecided.

ppeatfruit · 19/03/2017 11:14

Shelagh Oh I LIKE Russell Brand, Blush they have a similar look but no way is NF sexy!

OP posts:
TizzyDongue · 19/03/2017 11:15

Ah right, might explain why I don't know Pru - don't watch Master Chef: way too highbrow for me!!

ppeatfruit · 19/03/2017 11:29

Tizzy Master Chef is too pressurised for me. That's why I liked the more friendly, casual 'tone' of the BEEB GBBO.

Channel 4 better not eff it up Grin

I wasn't going to bother with it this year, however morbid curiosity on how NF will be has actually got me considering putting it on.
I do like NF in some of the shows I have seen him in, but not in others, so taking a wait and see, but not expecting to be wowed

RMogs, I'm a little unclear but were you not going to bother this year?

Grin
SapphireStrange · 19/03/2017 12:59

Utterly bamboozled by the inclusion of Noel F. I've never got his 'comedy' and think he's a try-hard.

Sandi: meh. I like her but is she warm and mischievous enough to compare to Mel and Sue?

Prue Leith: again meh.
