or does it? am a bit confused by the TV listings (esp as it only seems to be on CBBC) but I think the new lot of warriors start this week.

My DS (7) loves this programme. I have no idea when they start again.

foxinsocks · 05/03/2007 13:11

It's on tonight on CBBC at 5pm - I think it's the start of the new quest.

I love this too.
I have developed this weird crush on the bloke.
Think it has something to do with the feathered cape and leather trousers.

foxinsocks · 05/03/2007 13:15

the tight leather trousers you mean

I can't look at him now without thinking of a black-out blind thanks to marina!

He has these odd sort of head movements doesn't he.

We've only just managed to watch the last serious. For some reason we can't get CBBC on digital , much to my ds1 disgust, as we get cbeebies perfectly.
Oh well will have to wait another 6 months or so before they decide to put it on analogue

marymoocow · 05/03/2007 13:18

series obviously

foxinsocks · 05/03/2007 13:18

I don't know why they don't put it on both (we've been watching it on BBC1 too)

what box have you got that you can't get it?

OP posts:
Gingerbear · 05/03/2007 13:20

Gosh, yes they are tight.
black-out blind??

foxinsocks · 05/03/2007 13:22

I hope marina doesn't mind but here's her post on him from another thread we once had in Telly Addicts - makes me snort every time I see him on telly now.

'I find it a bit sad that he has all that very good theatre work on his CV and here he is yomping around an outward bound centre wrapped in a blackout blind.'

marymoocow · 05/03/2007 13:23

just an ordinary freeview box. Not sure what make. Its all down to reception though (i think). According to the website our postcode isn't supposed to be able to get anything, so i have just assumed we were lucky to get anything.
Mainly use it for cbeebies, so that i can have occasions like now iyswim

marymoocow · 05/03/2007 13:25

oh and they don't put it on both just to make my ds very excited and then angry when he realises that he won't be able to watch it!

TenaLady · 05/03/2007 13:25

Ah great, ds (5) loves this programme. Ds has picked up on the scottish accent and is quite convincing when he says 'let the challenge begin'

foxinsocks · 05/03/2007 13:26

how annoying marymoo (though I won't say it too loudly in case your box stops getting cbeebies too )

OP posts:
Gingerbear · 05/03/2007 13:26

ROFL foxinsocks!
I think he looks like the presenter chap from Saturday kids TV, with a black hair dye.

foxinsocks · 05/03/2007 13:28

maybe the gap won't be too long (between CBBC and BBC1) - there's nowt else on at the moment

both mine love it but ds (5) sometimes gets a bit scared - does yours Tena? (dd - age 6 -adores it and is already planning when she can audition for it, bless her!)

OP posts:
marymoocow · 05/03/2007 13:29

Thanks foxinsocks. Unfortunately cbeebies program planning has put paid to my time as the only thing that ds2 won't watch is Our Planet. Strangely enough its the only thing ds1 will

foxinsocks · 05/03/2007 13:30

ooh yes, I know who you mean. Quite often, I reckon, the BBC go for a 'look' for their children's presenters. They all look a bit like each other (or maybe that's just me not paying much attention!)

OP posts:
Marina · 05/03/2007 13:44

They obviously all get given a large pot of hair gel in lieu of wages (ds thinks Barney's is a great look )
My views on Raven's head movements is he is doing a methody "I am a carrion bird, see me cock my head and blink" sort of schtick.
I do love the programme really though , so let's hope it is with us soon!

Gingerbear · 05/03/2007 13:49

Barney - that's his name - well remembered Marina.
They have a mould at the BBC to churn out kids presenters.
Similar one on channel five for the milkshake girls.

shonaspurtle · 05/03/2007 13:55

Ooh I love Raven - it is the daytime telly highlight of my maternity leave so far...

kookaburra · 05/03/2007 14:07

Thx for this - DC love it - I have to stifle my giggles when the Raven appears... DC want to be in it!!!!!

Marina · 05/03/2007 14:10

Barney can play the piano and act opposite a mangy sock (and Kirsten). Ludicrous hair aside, I think he's one of the better presenters.

Miaou · 05/03/2007 14:10

Oooh yes - we will be glued to it as we know someone who is in this week (well we think it's this week anyway). She lives in the next village to us. Will let you know which one she is when she appears.

LURVE Raven. Dd1 is desperate to be in it (of course!)

foxinsocks · 05/03/2007 14:13

even I quite fancy doing Way of the Warrior - dd is convinced she could belly wriggle like a snake and get past the pushy outy things that seem to get everyone

how exciting Miaou!

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 05/03/2007 14:23

ah you see Marina, I'm obviously not 'in' enough with act-or stuff so didn't even consider that he might have been trying to actually be a raven. Will try and watch with serious appreciation for his acting abilities from now onwards.
