or does it? am a bit confused by the TV listings (esp as it only seems to be on CBBC) but I think the new lot of warriors start this week.

I have inside knowledge on this FIS
I have seen actors become extremely convincing pelicans, orang-utans or meerkats over the years
I myself have been lucky enough to get to be a lawnmower in a class improv exercise

Being a lawnmower must be tricky - if not sort of soothing, in a completely non-conventional sort of way.

The girl we know is called Kenat (not in RL, obviously). Go Kenat!!

Poor Raven - he has grown more feathers out of the back of his head (and had a haircut). A few more series, and his transformation will be complete.

She is in yellow, foxinsocks (the Scottish one). She had her hair in wee plaits at the front.

aww she's lovely Miaou. We were all rooting for her in the Torture Chamber - she did ever so well, I think the first time we have ever seen someone succeed at that one!

She is such a lovely person too, FIS! I saw her mum yesterday and apparently she is quite mortified at seeing herself on TV as it was filmed last summer and she has "grown up" so much since then (as you do at this age). We will be seeing a lot of her in this series

We bought DS (7) a Raven interactive DVD for Christmas. We didn't check beforehand for subtitles. Given that the TV series has them we just assumed the DVD would have them too. So DH complained to the producers and DS received a lovely apology letter, with a promise that a next issue would have subtitles, a signed postcard and a couple of other DVDs (not Raven but probably made by the same ppl). We were all so impressed. Although it would have been much better to have the darn subtitles on and not spoil a bit of DS's Christmas day.

We have that DVD too!

How do they choose the Warrior names? Are they related to their real names?

I've always thought there must be a lot of faffing-about between takes and expecting the kids to "buy into" the reality of it all when there is a director, production assistant, special FX guy, etc. breathing down their neck. Are a lot of them stage-schoolers?

Yes the names are made up from their real names - as far as I can work out, the girl that I know's Raven name is the first four letters of her first name and last letter of her last name (all mixed up obviously). And she definintely isn't a stage-schooler! AFAIK she just wrote in and asked to be on (I guess she had to "audition" though).
