I think the Lou/Bex and friendship/ social media stuff is aimed at a younger audience. I wonder if they are trying to attract a newer audience? It's all about the dynamic of teen friendships.

I suppose that Whiney reminds Mock of L - despite the fact he can, now, go and visit them in Watford ( not that far to go in a day) he chooses not to. He went up there once after the night in the cells, not mentioned it since. How is he paying that fine back? Why doesnt he go up there more?

Has Jack Branning always been an asshole, even for a Branning?

Jack has indeed always been an asshole for the following reasons:

Dumping kids on 90 year old step mum, when he could take care himself (he's not always at work, sometimes he's in the Vic)

Shagging his girlfriend's sister - resulting in pregnancy

Dealing drugs from his club

Stole his dad's medal and blamed it on his brother, causing fractured relations between Jim and Max for a lifetime

Ditching his kids and leaving them in different countries whenever he feels like it. And then picking up again when he comes back (no word of Penny again?)

Blames his daughter's mum for the death of his wife and refuses to acknowledge her on headstone

Shacked up with his brother's wife

And the one that bothers me the most: breaks all sorts of Data Protection laws and police protocol when he gets intel from one of his old mucker's down the station.

He hasn't been a policeman for years! Isn't it likely the police would not give out info to anyone, let alone a bloke who was a copper for 5 minutes?
