Did you know you might not have any Sky channels after midnight tonight? Sky and Virgin are arguing over money and Sky are going to pull the channels if no agreement today!

So no Lost or 24..........

Guess I'll stick with Virgin and get Lost boxset

nutty - it depends how much you pay - you can ring them up and say that you have seen a better offer - we did and we got all the tv channels and free landline calls

carlsberg · 28/02/2007 19:49

emsiewill mine didn't work first time. I switched everything off at the mains for about 20 seconds, which is what ntl always told me to do if the tv crashed and then it was ok. You need to know your pin number though once you choose what to watch.

Tortington · 28/02/2007 23:17

is there an update on what will happen or do we have to see if the switch is flicked at midnight?

coppertop · 01/03/2007 00:04

Apparently Sky One has now gone.

hairymclary · 01/03/2007 00:06

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

nightowl · 01/03/2007 00:08

its gone...sorry ladies

Tortington · 01/03/2007 00:09

go richard! rip them a new arse money grabbing fuckwit tossers - you think you ownt he world do you? i dont need you! i have my methods.

shonaspurtle · 01/03/2007 00:20

Fecking bastard Murdoch. I personally will not miss Sky but poor dh may go into a decline without his daily fix of treble Simpsons.

So will anyone actually be leaving Virgin because of this?

I really like how the TV Hits on the On Demand bit are now free. Have watched 3 series of Teachers in the last 2 days. Ample compensation for Sky. Would rather wait for 24 etc anyway as Sky's advert breaks are ridiculously long.

Tortington · 01/03/2007 00:23

no i wont becuase murdoch is a cunt.

dh wont becuase they stole football ?

nathaliea · 01/03/2007 00:47

another thing that sucks is that on virgin you have to pay for babytv and on sky its part of the kids channels

nightowl · 01/03/2007 00:49

we were telewest, then ntl and now virgin. never watched sky one that much anyway but possibly will have withdrawal symptoms from the simpsons. please dont take living tv....its my life!! the on demand thing is good though, have been watching nip/tuck and drooling over the beautiful julian.

nightowl · 01/03/2007 00:50

we only had baby tv for a few weeks anyway free. i was thinking of switching to another provider ages ago but i dont have a bt line. lots of them are cheaper than telewest.

Bomper · 01/03/2007 07:56

Oh no....it's gone!!

themaskedposter · 01/03/2007 08:09

Go Branson!

we aren't changing from virgin

(mind you - DH and I don't watch Sky one et al .. however the DSS do when they stay - Oh well, there are a zillion other channels for them to watch instead aye!)

I read this morning that Sky is also removing its channels from Freeview before the summer. Well done to RB for standing up to them. Someone has to.

NuttyMuffins · 01/03/2007 09:55

Is project catwalk on any other channel ???

My kids are well annoyed about the Simpsons.

Really not sure I will bother keeping it now tbh.

gegs73 · 01/03/2007 10:03

I'm going to swop as a matter of priniciple. Mostly because my TV package won't cost any less without Sky One.

Before Virgin, I already had Telewest Plus where I can pick and choose from over a hundred programmes and whole series to watch whenever I wanted, teleport replay which shows programmes I may have missed over the last week and the option to watch any films and pay for them as offered by Virgin. I can't see what I am gaining, only that I am losing Sky One that shows Lost, 24, Nip/Tuck, Simpsons and Futurama. Whole thing sucks and real big hassle to change to anything else as we have Virgin phone, broadband, TV

Well I just rang Virgin up to say I was thinking of leaving - mainly 'cos I can get Sky with more channels for £15 a month, rather than the £20 a month I'm paying for Virgin.

But they offerred to halve my bill so I'm staying.

Go Branson

FourJays · 01/03/2007 18:10

I'm staying with virgin as Mudoch is, as cutardo says, a C U Next Tuesday.

But I am mourning the loss of my Sawyer. How will I live? I'll probably have to have sex with DH on Sunday nights now.

nightowl · 01/03/2007 19:58

i would SO love to call up telewest/virgin, whatever they are now and say i had found a better deal (wish i did but i dont have a bt line to get one)..just dont think im brave enough! im not a good liar.

when i moved into this house there was not a telephone socket of any description anywhere in here, i only have the cable one now. what is it with cable btw? is it exclusive to certain areas? have always wondered.

bubblerock · 01/03/2007 20:09

Project catwalk is shown on freeview on Sunday at 6pm I can't remember which channel though.
