Why does Witless insist on spending money they don't have? I think she did humiliate Leek in the pub with that awful 'mate' of his and I can understand him being angry, but not the slap obv. She seems totally lacking in insight/empathy into Leek's situation.
I wish he would stop grizzling all the time, though.
Why is Jack so angry with Glenda. He looks more like Boris Karloff in Frankenstein every week.
Why was Nuchelle carrying an even larger than life size Sharon through the market?
Laughed out loud at Denise's reference to 'Kafkaresque' . Kafka wasn't on the reading list for GCSE Lit last time I looked.

BlueThursday · 13/02/2017 21:29

So Kathy had a check up last year?

"I'm pleased to tell you Mrs Sullivan you're no longer dead"

Akire · 13/02/2017 21:34

It's wrong season for scarecrow surely? It's going take weeks dig over allotment before even think about planting seeds. Wouldn't you just take all bits and assemble there? Don't know anyone who carry it even around the corner!

MrsBotox · 13/02/2017 21:37

You mean the big blonde was a scarecrow???

TheMockingbird · 13/02/2017 21:40

"I'm pleased to tell you Mrs Sullivan you're no longer dead"
Grin

This was my thought exactly!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 13/02/2017 21:52

Mrs, Sullivan you're no longer dead actual lol.

What was that scarecrow all about? Was that Les' old wig?

Why for the love of God isn't anyone advising Lee to get medical help? He's a depressed wreck with PTSD and his life is imploding.

buddhasbelly · 13/02/2017 23:11

Akire re Jay talking about someone having his back - he was meaning Roxy.

I reckon Nuchelle's going to get wasted when the temp school do her background check - she'll get wasted and tell Tina about the American boy.

EnidButton · 13/02/2017 23:29

And then they'll kiss.

Akire · 13/02/2017 23:56

Thank you buddha yes that makes sense.

enid I do hope not but given they have met twice and done the eye thing I suspect you may be right! Though her and Kush may get along? Apart from jay are there even any other single men?

EnidButton · 14/02/2017 02:15

Good point, there isn't is there? Jack and Max, that's about it.

I actually liked the scene between Tina and Nuchelle when they were on the stairs ages ago so maybe they'd work well together. Would seem a bit out of the blue on Michelle's side but you never know.

youarenotkiddingme · 14/02/2017 07:15

I wonder if all this zooming in on Nuchelle digging at allotment, scenes there and now the larger than life and make it point it's happening scarecrow are leading us up there being a big storyline around there. If not then what a waste of a few minutes per episode!

I agree about the health check and Ian. Although I hope it's more an awareness storyline than something serious as they've been through enough!

Never thought about that boy ending up being Nuchelles student!

HSMMaCM · 14/02/2017 07:26

I'm waiting for her to dig up a body at the allotment. Maybe Fatboy somehow teleported from the car crusher? Or what's his name who Ronnie had a child with.

JustAnotherSilentOldNumber · 14/02/2017 07:41

maybe she will dig so deep that she will discover some underground mole people, add a touch of surrealism to the realism of late.

The80sweregreat · 14/02/2017 08:47

HSMM, Charlie is Matthew's dad. Dot/s grandson.
Roxy also thought that Ronnie had done something to him, but Ronnie made her ring him up and ( i sort of recall) Dot mentioning him once or twice too, so i seem to think he is still alive somewhere.
Not so sure about Fatboy though, i really didnt want him to be in the back of that car - Vincent used to send Dot postcards to pretend to her he was still alive and living in Europe, but nobody has mentioned him in a while.

HateSummer · 14/02/2017 08:53

"I'm pleased to tell you Mrs Sullivan you're no longer dead"

😂 That made me laugh!

I forgot EE was on yesterday! I think I'm drifting away from it 😆

SoupDragon · 14/02/2017 09:05

I like Donna and Tina, but felt that their laughing at Nuchelle flirting with a young 'un was snidey and bitchy

But entirely realistic I thought.

I don't think Whitless should have laid into Leek when she knows what a fragile mental state he is in but I don't think that means he was justified in hitting her. She has done nothing to support and help him at all (Again, no justification for hitting her).

The80sweregreat · 14/02/2017 09:48

Nobody is really helping Lee as they are all disgusted at the attempted robbery he staged with Oz. This is clouding their view of him, now he has hit his wife too hasnt helped matters,
Witless needs to leave him really, but people dont in real life and make excuses for bad behaviour i;m afraid.
She does have places she can go to as well, a lot of women just dont or have children to think about.

southeastdweller · 14/02/2017 10:36

I don't see anything wrong with 'Chelle flirting and going on to shag guys more than half her age but agree it's realistic that some people would bitch about it. For he it's definitely a case of 'I should be so lucky!'. It's all fair game in my eyes when both parties are consenting adults.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 14/02/2017 11:05

Have just watched last night's - I did like the conversation between Mick and Shirley in the barrel store because you could tell she was actually thinking about her parenting of and believing of and letting down of/being let down by Dean throughout it even though his name was never mentioned. She's such a good actor - and then on the other end of the scale we have to put up with Nuchelle Confused

Mick's outrage at Lee hitting Whitney was slightly undercut by memories of this news story several years ago.

I think the Lee/Whitney story is being done well too - his lashing out at her, and her conversation with Lauren and its outcome seemed all too plausible.

woodhill · 14/02/2017 11:08

I think it is sordid and she is coming across as a sexual predator. She should know better especially working in education. I'm a similar age to Chelle and ds is 19 so it is making me feel uncomfortable. I don't think it is acceptable.

seabreezewavingtrees · 14/02/2017 11:09

I agree with The80s Lee's behaviour has clouded people's judgement. His family were originally desperate to help him, they wanted to see the dr with him and make sure that he was taking his meds. They found it quite difficult to help because he was lying about compliance with medication and his mental state, nonetheless his parents and wife seemed quite invested.
Then he arranged a robbery which involved serious injury to his younger brother, and threat to his infant brother, traumatised his whole family and caused financial loss. His mum's now away and his dad was rapidly losing his patience, yet still took on his debts for him and didn't wash his hands of him despite the robbery. Mick has been going over and above for Lee. Even now that Lee's slapped his wife, Mick is still trying to work out what's in Lee's best interests.
I think the family are hugely supportive of him, but they're not doctors. Did he go on the waiting list for therapy? I remember Mick being angry with the GP about the length of the wait but can't remember if Lee asked to be added to the list.

southeastdweller · 14/02/2017 11:39

'Sexual predator'?! Grin

seabreezewavingtrees · 14/02/2017 12:01

Chelle has an interesting history having been the original teen pregnancy whodunnit storyline, having Vicky by Den, her best mate's dad. She then had her second child to Grant, her best mate's husband and kept that a secret for years. Wasn't she lying to her own husband about paternity all along? I think she's had some unfortunate dalliances and hasn't ever found happiness.
As an aside why does no one mention Vicky? That's Michelle's daughter isn't it?Sharon's sister, Denny's aunt and she lived on the square? Upon Michelle's return people would have met both her kids on their travels to Walford and would surely say "Oh I remember when your daughter lived on the square with her ever changing accent, how is she doing?"

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 14/02/2017 12:01

I thought Lauren was good in that episode. That would be a very difficult situation to be in ( I have no experience of it myself) torn between supporting friend and wanting to tell her to get the fuck out.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 14/02/2017 14:32

Can I just say: Nuchelle is the worst babysitter EVER.

She got home just before six in one episode, shouted for Louise and Denny, realised they weren't there, buggered off up the allotment. And last night she was all up for heading back to Student Guy's place for a shag. WHO IS LOOKING AFTER DENNY?

By the time Sharon and Phil get back, the child will be feral.
