There are rumours that they dropped a whole week of storylines so they've been putting filler scenes in which is why it feels disjointed. Apparently why they weren't on last night too. Wonder what they dropped and why.

maybe that's why everyone is flattened and recovered within a few hours!

I did wonder why it wasn't on. And there's not really much going on.

And for the poster who mentioned Alan the builder and Ian knowing each other and Ian being forgiving re rats droppings etc. At end of Thursday Ian said he was a cowboy but wasn't telling Mick as served him right.

I wonder whether a storyline was too close to real life events? I actually thought the bus ploughing through the market was too close to the Christmas market incidents in Europe but they showed that - I can't imagine what they've pulledif it's true.

Interesting to read some of the scenes were inserted, it does seem to be a different soap in some ways. Maybe the new producer is making life harder or upsetting folk?

It is hard to imagine what subject is taboo enough considering past storylines. I'd have thought terrorism except it is unlikely the new producer went from Michelle knocking back an aspirin to that!

I've just remembered in the trailer for bus crash episodes, it showed the queen vic bust with dust falling over it. Like the pub was going to collapse or something.
But all we've got is a leak in the kitchen, I did think something more would happen with the crash but just been a bit meh really.

Well maybe the pub will fall down (completely or a bit!) and they'll use those scenes.
Perhaps they will now use the Max angle as a goon to those scenes so they aren't wasted?
Perhaps we'll find out he's behind the leak and the use of a rogue builder?

I use to envy all of you and your predictive scene ability and plot ideas. Since the new crap director I've felt more in the loop!

It would make sense that scenes had to be deleted and no character died (other than the bus driver) if they resembled the Berlin market attack too closely.

I can see only Leek or Whitless returning from Whit's brothers if either of them was supposed to have died, with some sort of story of "they've gone to sort themselves out" to explain a sudden, non-dramatic exit.

Max has clearly booked himself into the Shangri-La hotel in the shard, sipping on his OJ, looking down on the city and plotting the square's demise, it's clearly what we'd all be doing if we were him.

Apparently it's quite tricky to get actual goat. Often it is mutton.

The bus crash episode was shown about the same time as the court case for the tipper truck in Bath which had faulty brakes. Maybe that's why they pulled episodes.

Gripper was a truely horrible character. I did see Roly once at a wedding in my 20s! ( only remotely famous person i have ever seen, apart from frank bruno in chelmsford ) i loved grange hill.

I used to love Grange Hill too. It started just before my sister started secondary school and 2 years before I was due to start. It terrified me. The shouting teachers, the huge building, the bullies! Just as well I knew my sister would look after me.

Being as EE episodes are filmed months in advance, I think Phil's holiday storyline are to tie in with his stint in panto.
He was in a panto in Birmingham, while there he took the time to go to the Sea Life Centre.
