Have watched three episodes so far and am liking it.

I'm back as I'm still infuriated over the ending and DH is getting fed up about me going on and on about the massive plotholes Grin
So, a few other things that have come to me over night:
Which ones were turned into angels? Prairie was, and apparently so was Homer - we only know because Prairie says so. And what about Scott and Renata? Were they angels too? And the other girl (can't think of her name now), was she an angel too, even though she never received a movement?
And also: what was the significance of them being angels anyway? If any Tom, Dick and Harry can open the portal by doing the right movements, what was the point of some of them being angels anyway?
And: Why was Homer so important?? In her narrative Prairie says at some point "Heck knew Homer was the linchpin, he just didn't understand how" - well, neither do I!
And: The woman that Prairie kept meeting said at one point "you have to ward off a great evil" - but it is never explained what the great evil is. I mean, you get the impression it is evil at a huge scale, not just evil Heck kidnapping people to ultimately travel through dimensions.
And: what was the signifficance of the sound Heck records coming feom Saturns rings? That made absolutely no sense at all. So we are meant to think that when we die we travel to Saturn's rings??
The holes in this plot are so big, I bet you could step right through them into a different dimension without having to partake in expressive dance first Confused

I finished it last week and I've got to say I loved it. Few shows have sucked me in and gripped me like The OA did. Yes there are plot holes, but I read an interesting article that suggested a lot of these are down to the fact we're seeing an interpretation of what Prairie is telling the 5 - so it's different depending if we see it from Alfonso or Buck or Steve's point of view... To be honest it never occurred to me to doubt her story, so I think the books (being planted?) are a clunky way of making you think it could all be the ramblings of a madwoman.

But yes, even with my suspension of disbelief, I did think it was odd that Hap couldn't hear the goings on in the basement. Some scientist he was!

I started it as it was recommended on an Netflix recommendations thread. I just don't like it at all and couldn't get into it. Stranger things I was hooked straight away and binge watched the whole series in 24 hours Shock

See I found Stranger Things hard to get into but delved right into OA. I did just finish ST last night though and it is brilliant. Don't understand where the comparisons between the two shows come from Confused

I binge watched it. I loved it and think you need to watch more than one episode before writing it off.

Agreed Onion of course he would have mics in there and you make very good points but I still loved it!

Dolores sums it up well. I wanted to jump to season 2 ,then was gutted to see there isn't one yet. Grin

cushioncovers · 14/01/2017 14:15

I loved it but it took me 3 episodes to get into it.

jasonapple · 16/01/2017 00:13

I loved it and can't wait for season 2.

My questions are:
Why is Prairie's Mum such a weirdo?
Why was Alfonso in Prairie's house anyway?
Who was the shooter?

The80sweregreat · 16/01/2017 09:51

Dh and I started watching on Saturday afternoon and now up to Episode 5.
The whole time they are in the portal , I keep thinking ' where do they do to the toilet', it must stink down there! Dh is more concerned about the stream! Where is the doc getting his gas from too? He has a huge set up down there and nobody has noticed anything odd?
The plane Hap used must be registered somewhere - you cant just fly around without someone questioning it can you?
Jason Issacs is very good and I do want to know what happens to them all, but its all very odd and I am starting to lose interest a bit now!
