It's back November 2nd 10pm Sky Living. Really glad I've stuck with it, had a couple of bad seasons but it's really picked up again.

OP posts:
Theonlyweighisdown · 12/11/2016 12:47

Yes I'm definitely only watching cause I've invested so much time into the series and want to see how it ends.

EverySongbirdSays · 12/11/2016 16:03

want to see how it ends

With a whimper at this point

meridithssister · 12/11/2016 16:29

Jo is driving me nuts. Just tell Alex you are married.
Meridith is driving me nuts. Just tell Maggie you are shagging Riggs.

We need George back to sort them all out. Sad

CupofTeaTime · 12/11/2016 17:03

Jo is seriously doing my head in. The whole Alex situation was started by her and she's wandering around like she's been so hard done to when Alex might go to prison because she constantly keeps secrets from him! Can't stand her.

Maggie is so not sexy in any way and it makes me cringe watching her try to impress Riggs. Can't stand her either.

Sick of Bailey for a few seasons now too. All she ever does is shout and storm around.

CupofTeaTime · 12/11/2016 17:05

And don't get me started on April! Supposedly being kept in hospital as her c section incision has reopened yet she was able to wave her arms around, slap the bedcovers and wail like a banshee when Jackson took Harriet home. Having had a c section that didn't come back open I know for a fact she wouldn't have been able to carry on like that with an open one!!! Small niggle but highly unrealistic of the writers.

Dozer · 13/11/2016 07:57

alex committed a very serious assault: that's Jo's fault how?

She was previously in an abusive relationship with someone dangerous who she still fears, and her new DP does that: understandable that she might not now trust Alex to tell him.

It will be tragic, especially given his background, where he's got to and appeal as a character, if he is jailled and loses everything, but it's what would - and should - happen in RL.

OohNoDooEy · 13/11/2016 08:06

Is it different in the us? Does the injured party have to press charges?

I think he will drop them at the last minute

EverySongbirdSays · 13/11/2016 08:48

From what I understand it hinges on the differences between a "misdemenour" and a "felony"

I don't know enough about US Law to be certain of the difference

BUT - I imagine that a misdemenour which is what Alex thought he was pleading to is like common assault or an affray, in our terms

And what he's been charged with and is going on trial for is GBH for which a conviction would see him "struck off" in our terms

Naturally DeLuca will eventually aim to get the charge reduced and he'll get Com Service and LESSONS WILL BE LEARNED he'll probably give free healthcare to poor children etc

Cherrypi · 13/11/2016 09:09

So sad they'd separate mum and baby too.

TheSecondOfHerName · 13/11/2016 09:11

I'm finding it quite irritating, yet still watching.

Dozer · 13/11/2016 10:50

In RL, whatever the outcome of criminal charges, he'd immediately be fired for assaulting a colleague. Would be a message to send that people who are good at their important job can commit GBH and not face the consequences!

Shonda Rhimes men are often "off" IMO, even more so in Scandal.

EverySongbirdSays · 13/11/2016 11:33

Well exactly Dozer, and not just a colleague but a subordinate whom he teaches

They've written a cheque they can't cash.

What's bonkers about Scandal is (redaction for Spoilers)

She continues to shag that bloke on the reg even though he killed that other bloke in cold blood!

Well many things tbh, lost it in Season 3 (yes I'm still watching)

EverySongbirdSays · 13/11/2016 11:47

And that's how I mean about Bailey too, how she'd be fired.

ANY boss that should be INSTANT DISMISSAL

but it isn't because she has a personal relationship with Karev.

HandbagCrazy · 14/11/2016 13:34

I'm disappointed in this series so far Sad

I have my fingers crossed for Yang to come back for an episode, be her usual straight talking blunt self and get everyone back to the way they were.

So far I hate Amelia, Riggs and Jo.
Am 50/50 on Grey, Bailey, April, Jackson and jacksons mum.

I only really like Hunt and Alex to be honest. They need a good patient / medicine based story to get it back up to standard imo

missyB1 · 14/11/2016 13:41

Having worked in hospitals for 25 years yes Karev would definitely have been fired - at the very least suspended until after the trial anyway! It's such a silly storyline.

I'm going to punch Meredith if she carries on being such a sneaky bitch! Angry

Sorry got carried away there Grin

DiscoMike · 14/11/2016 14:41

I like how they pretend for series and series that the clinic doesn't exist and then Oh they need somewhere for Alex to disappear off to and there it is again Shock the clinic Go, Alex, go and hide there Grin

You're all right about the characters you don't care about overwhelming those you do. Even the ones I used to be bothered about are all a bit meh and yet still I watch

EverySongbirdSays · 14/11/2016 15:53

That 3 million dollars of Denny's would be long gone too.

There are unconfirmed rumours of a yang return online

And the quality has dropped by about 50% since she left too

HandbagCrazy · 14/11/2016 16:28

Disco I agree about the clinic. I assumed it was closed down when the hospital was for sale after the plane crash.
It's all very similar to the children though. Meredith is a cold fish 99% of the time - then when she needs to appear human, the children appear to remind you she's a mummy. But where are they children every day? Why have the big stories about them having children when they are seemingly forgotten? overthinking

I rewatched some old episodes not long ago - the Denny story, George dying - it was so much better then.
I also rewatched the episode when Yang went to the Zurich to speak and spoke to Burke. I love that episode - I miss Yang Sad

EverySongbirdSays · 14/11/2016 17:27

Yes, the children who live in a cupboard.

One of the weirdest ones being when Sofia was brought in by her friends mum to A and E and the mum continued sitting with her and Arizona and
Callie went back to work Confused

Also, Merediths weird ever expanding house, which she went back to leaving the Amazing Dream House. Orifinally she could only fit George and Izzie and then at some point Lexie ended up in the attic.

Until recently it was Meredith, Maggie, Amelia, AND 3 children.

Where does their nanny who also apparently lives in a cupboard sleep?

And if there is no nanny and the younger 2 are still in that great tiny office room hospital daycare where the fuck are they in the scenes where they all carpool?

Wombletor · 15/11/2016 16:41

I have watched from the beginning. Its like an old friend I can't get rid of! Storylines are crappy but Shonda Rhimes just keeps us watching.

I'm loving Alex in this season.

TheBiscuitStrikesBack · 15/11/2016 16:58

I'm rewatching the box set and watching the new series.

New series is crap in comparison!

DispatchReady · 15/11/2016 18:52

Yes the children who are never there, although you always see all their toys scattered about! Ridiculous. Why would Meredith have all those people living with her when she has 3 young kids, they're not students, they are doctors, sure they can afford their own places!!

Dozer · 16/11/2016 09:24

Yes, and the childcare (other than the hospital "daycare") is invisible too!

The main concerns of a single parent, FT doctor with a v high pressured job and young DC seem to be work, sex and supporting her friends! The DC never require any of her attention.

The bloke Meridith briefly dated last season was miles more attractive and nicer than Riggs.

atticusclaw2 · 16/11/2016 09:33

The problem is that they've killed off too many characters now.

I back to back box setted the lot last year and so was deeply into the Grey's world but they've lost all of the characters that we've grown to care about.

I care about April and Jackson. I care about Callie and Arizona. That's about it now. Meredith is just annoying.

They need to bring back Christina and Izzie. Its difficult to bring back anyone else because they're all dead!

Dozer · 16/11/2016 10:05

Izzie was v poorly and in RL would likely be dead too! Would love to see her back though.

Yang was the biggest loss but has too many other good options to return! Perhaps she could guest star!
