I can't decide. It's written by Sharron Hogan but the laughs aren't coming for me yet.

Sensitive skin hasn't been renewed for a season 3 yet, I hope they do give it at least one more season.

I'd be interested to know what the British show was that it was adapted from!

PoppyPicklesPenguin · 14/10/2016 23:24

I have consulted google and it was also called sensitive skin Face Palm

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/10/2016 23:51

Yes, it was also Sensitive Skin. The music was beautiful in it.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/10/2016 23:58

Joanna Lumley was fantastic in it.

JanetStWalker · 15/10/2016 15:01

Must admit, I preferred the Kim Cattrall version which is rare because I tend to always prefer the original versions of things. Setting it in Canada was a nice touch, Toronto was it? Made it seem more rateable than if it had been the usual cliché locations of Upper West Side or LA.

The Joanna Lumley one is repeated sometimes on Atlantic, deffo worth a watch.

DiegeticMuch · 15/10/2016 21:31

I've just watched Divorce. Great acting, subtle comedy, authentic dialogue. I'm looking forward to ep 2.

EachandEveryone · 15/10/2016 22:58

It was very LA though the dialogue. Like I said earlier it was as if they were rattling off a script.

Yes I agree. Sharon Horgan was on the Jonathan Ross show last night and her interview came across as very scripted and rehearsed compared to the others and she could not for the life of her sit still, such a fidget! I don't think I'll continue with Divorce.

JanetStWalker · 16/10/2016 12:35

I watched it last night and can't say it grabbed me but I'll give it another couple of chances in the hope I'll get into it.

The best thing about it was SJP's blue coat, speaks volumes about my wandering attention.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/10/2016 13:55

Watched and didn't TBH think much of it

Will see what e2 is like and if doesn't improve then will delete off the planner

IhatchedaSnorlax · 18/10/2016 10:17

I thought it was quite good - I'll stick with it for a while.

BearFeet · 18/10/2016 14:49

I loved it.

EachandEveryone · 19/10/2016 16:41

I'll watch the second one tonight

Liked the first episode, not so gripped on the second. I just thinking how wonderful SJP looks with her shiny hair Grin

EachandEveryone · 19/10/2016 19:27

Oh don't say that I was hardly gripped by the first epusode

I'm finding it a bit unbelievable that SJP is fighting to keep a marriage going with a complete arse. The husband character would be better if he were a bit more likeable.

I thought the set piece in the first episode was hilarious and very Sharon Horgan - Molly Shannon being arrested blind drunk after nearly shooting her husband and trying to play the good hostess at the same time. No such great moments in the second episode. It needs a bit more exposition about why SJP doesn't just kick him to the kerb and give Matthew Broderick a ring to see if he's available.

DiegeticMuch · 19/10/2016 19:44

I liked the second one less, because Robert was such an unappealing tool. If he had redeeming features it would be better balanced. The acting really is superb though.

EachandEveryone · 19/10/2016 23:11

The outfits are fantastic I wonder where they are from J.Crew

OlennasWimple · 19/10/2016 23:16

I've enjoyed it so far, but agree it's more of a comedy drama than laugh out loud comedy.

SJP is a talented actress, it's a shame really that SATC will be her defining role.

SarfEast1cated · 19/10/2016 23:24

I don't rate it actually - I want to - love Sharon Horgan, but it should be her saying the words not SJP. I don't think SJP carries it off very well.

EachandEveryone · 20/10/2016 11:00

It needed a bigger star I imagine. I don't think Sharon Horgan is a great actress she's just herself surely? I love the clothes they are very similar to what SH wore in Catastrophy. I wonder if they ever met each other? Where is it supposed to be set?

OP posts:
tribpot · 20/10/2016 11:19

It's in New England. SJP is an exec producer and Horgan is the creator/head writer so they have definitely met (not just on red carpet 'post for a photo and pretend we know each other' kind of events).

BearFeet · 20/10/2016 22:00

But surely the husband is allowed to be a shit when his wife's been screwing someone for 12 months. I'd be pretty pissed off too.
Loved the scene in the hospital where the man was in a coma.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 21/10/2016 02:32

I thought it was suburbs of New York.

I thought Robert looks like SJP's dad not husband.

OlennasWimple · 21/10/2016 02:36

It's set in Westchester County - New York, not New England
