I thought this was quite good last week - thought the death of the brother at the end was a bit of a shock but other than that, thought the acting was good and the script fairly sharp.

Looking forward to tonight's episode. I'd recommend it if you enjoy dramas especially political ones.

I think its very good and I wouldn't say no to Scott if he looked my way.......I wish.

What will the outcome of the byelection be....who wins the seat and who wins the heart?

UnquietDad · 12/03/2007 12:28

I think Jo is the most attractive woman in it, followed by Kirsty who has a bit of a dirty way about her. That journalist woman is obviously supposed to be terribly glamorous, but has an odd chin. Ashika is OK, but not really my type.

foxinsocks · 12/03/2007 12:33

Did you see the Jo actress (is it Raquel Cassidy) in Lead Balloon (the Jack Dee programme)? She was brilliant in that (I loved that programme - not sure how it did in the ratings but it had me howling with laughter).

I saw parts of it, yes! She had that same sardonic way of talking.

Clayhead · 14/03/2007 22:04

Thought tonight's episode was great.

Only one more left!

Molesworth · 14/03/2007 22:05

This series just gets better and better!

Did Ashika say yes or no I wonder

Clayhead · 14/03/2007 22:06

Please God no!

Scott is just...yummy

foxinsocks · 14/03/2007 22:12

Scott, come to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

surely, she said no - James only wants what he can't have (but no doubt Scott will be distraught when the pictures of James and Ashika get published)

and, awww, poor Danny.

Kirsty was fab in this episode.

V good.

I've changed my fickle male mind. KIRSTY is of course the hottest piece of totty in this programme. Especially when she puts on a nice frock and does herself up a bit.

Did anyone else wince/ shout/ want to throw things when that headline appeared with "SAY'S" ?? You don't get that, even in the Mirror! There is no way that would have got past a sub-editor. Shame the same can't be said for a TV script editor, director and producer.

I reckon - this is how I'd write it - Ashika will lose the by-election by about 30 votes and then demand a recount and win! (Actually, can you do that? Or do you have to ask for the recount before the result is announced ? Candidates are told before they go on to the platform, but they can also be told it's too close to call.)

Molesworth · 14/03/2007 22:18

thought Jo was impressive too

Clayhead · 14/03/2007 22:20

but Scott was more impressive

UnquietDad · 14/03/2007 22:24

What was the song on over the end credits - does anyone know?

foxinsocks · 14/03/2007 22:25

ooh give me a few lyrics - I flicked over to the football so didn't catch it but have been mentally clocking up what tracks they've been playing so may have caught a bit of it

OP posts:
UnquietDad · 14/03/2007 22:30

can't remember any, I'd google them if I could!

Molesworth · 14/03/2007 22:31

I didn't catch it either. The soundtrack has been one of the highlights of the series though. Brilliant stuff.

UnquietDad · 14/03/2007 22:35

I like the way the soundtrack seems a natural part of proceedings, seamlessly meshed with the action.

It hasn't been totally gratuitous the way it is on, say, "Grey's Anatomy", where it comes cross as "insert college rock song here to tell ya how ya oughta be FEELIN in dumbass patronisin' kinda way. Like we'd have the radio on in a HOSPITAL anyway, asshole."

foxinsocks · 14/03/2007 22:39

yes, I think the music is very well integrated (and like you point out, that's harder to do than most people realise I reckon) - I like to think I'm pretty good on music recognition but they've found a few tracks which have really stretched my memory. Annoying that you can't find a list of them though (have just had a brief look on their site).

LOL UQD

(literally)

UnquietDad · 14/03/2007 22:40

When things come out on DVD, the subtitles sometimes show the names of the tracks on the soundtrack.

slalomsuki · 15/03/2007 13:31

I've been thinking about Scott all day.......how sad am I but some wicked thoughts none the less

I thought it was great and even dh who came in part way through it wanted more once I had filled him in on the story

beansprout · 16/03/2007 18:44

Ashika deffo said "no", as the whole thing is about her and Scott and having slimeball working against her leading up to the election is the obvious thing to happen.

Btw, they filmed the public meetings at our local library!

Clayhead · 21/03/2007 18:56

Anyone else looking forward to this tonight (and, ahem, the deeply lovely Scott in particular ) or just me...?

Molesworth · 21/03/2007 18:57

oh yes

can't wait

Clayhead · 21/03/2007 18:57

Only one more week though!

Wonder if it comes out on DVD?!

Molesworth · 21/03/2007 18:58

It's the final episode tonight isn't it?
