My nomination is Two Broke Girls.

I first saw Two Broke Girls on an airplane, I didn't have enough time before landing to start watching another movie, so I thought I'd watch a couple of episodes of a sitcom. I couldn't quite believe how bad it was, and when I got home I watched another episode just to make sure I hadn't hallucinated its awfulness in some kind of jet lagged haze. I hadn't.

If you haven't seen it it's like one of those dreadful Nickelodeon or Disney kids sitcoms where everything is overly bright and the programme makers have mistaken having the actors loudly shouting catch phrases for character development. Except as its made for adults most of the 'jokes' are crude sexual humour, which I don't mind when it's funny, but this isn't funny, it's the adult equivalent of a five year old shouting 'poo bum fart willy' at you constantly. Plus all the supporting characters are horrible racial stereotypes.

There must be a fan base for it because it's on about season four, but dear god it's bad.

I came on to say Mrs Brown Boys but started nodding vigorously at your OP. I watched Two Broke Girls because I saw Jennifer Coolidge was in
It and I love her, but it's soooooo bad.

Stage show, on the other hand, sounds awesome!

True Hobbes but IMO GOT is more insidious than MBB because it's so well made; the morality of it is despicable. I speak as someone whose family is involved with it too.

OdinsLoveChild · 17/09/2016 17:12

I hate x-factor. It was ok for the first series as it was something different and I tolerated the 2nd series but now we're on series 657 it's old and boring.

I dislike Katie Prices Pony Club too.

Sparklingbrook · 17/09/2016 17:17

The remake of Are you Being Served was even more dire than the original.

Loose Women is unwatchable, and This Morning not far off.

Even Strictly is starting to lose it's sparkle for me.

I don't understand MBB.

ppeatfruit · 17/09/2016 21:38

Mrs Brown's Boys. Sparkling I can imagine that the remake of Are You being Served was terrible but I almost liked some of the old eps. they were sooo bad they nearly alright!

Odins Oh God I agree about X factor, the singers just shriek . Mainly.

I honestly don't think I've seen any of the reality shows on this thread at all, and it sounds like I've made the right call - the concept of "structured reality" just baffles me.

I did watch a 3 minute YouTube clip of "Judge Rinder's Best Bits" when he was announced on Strictly and he seems like quite good value.

But count me amongst the beleaguered Mrs Brown's Boys Appreciation Society. The plots are terrible, the jokes would look dated in the 1970s, the sentimentality is toe-curling and the acting is atrocious, but as a comedy geek I think Brendan O'Carroll's control of a live audience is absolutely phenomenal.

Deejeebee · 17/09/2016 23:04

I love the "Real Housewives" !! Well only the Atlanta and New Jersey ones it's my guilty pleasure TV.
Can't stand anything to do with the Kardashians, X Factor, Two Broke Girls, Family Guy and The Simpsons.
Can't seem to get into "Game of thrones" or "Scandal" people rave about them way too much.

BBlackberryStone · 17/09/2016 23:12

Mrs Brown's Boys was so good when it started because it was live on an actual stage. It was so fucking funny and really natural. It just never worked on telly Sad

MrsJayy · 18/09/2016 00:23

I saw MBB years ago on stage and it was so funny the trying to make the cast laugh is what makes it funny there was a live Tv show the other month and the look of horror on faces as Mrs Brown went off script had me Grin thatsthe appeal for me

MrsJayy · 18/09/2016 00:24

My eldest Dd is GOT obsessed i dont get it ive tried but the incest rape and violence kinda put me off it,

Davros · 18/09/2016 00:30

That awful quiz show Giles Caren did recently in ITV. I hope, and expect, the money was good, I luffs Giles usually

augustusglupe · 18/09/2016 02:02

Mrs Browns boys!! And the thought of yet another Christmas special Hmm

EsmesBees · 18/09/2016 02:58

I came on to say Stage School but see I've been beaten to it. It's worth a watch just to see how very bad it is.

The80sweregreat · 18/09/2016 08:56

Rip off Britain, the moment I see Angela Rippon or Gloria Hunniford on anything I have to turn it over. Fair play to them hiring older presenters, that's not the issue, its just them , they seem so smug. Angela must have been a headmistress of a posh private girls school in a previous life.

MrsJayy · 18/09/2016 09:08

Gloria being furious at nothing on Rip of Britain is amusing

ppeatfruit · 18/09/2016 09:11

I do remember liking the early MBB shows , but it suddenly it -became atrocious- went downhill, IMO it was the writing not the staging.
