Candice's idea is good, but fruit cake on top will be heavy, won't it?

My nan didn't bake. And she lived the last 3 years of her life solely on cheese sandwiches, hot chocolate with cream and rum in it, and menthol cigarettes for the vegetable bit.

I won't do a cake in her memory.

I foresee a 'cherries sinking to the bottom' fiasco, because he's having a really bad week.

I'd do rose and almond or pistachio I think. And you can eat rose petals!

My banana bread is a Paul Hollywood recipe but I use half the sugar stated and swap his chocolate chips for sultanas and nuts.

I have some French jasmine jam sitting in a cupboard. That would be god in a cake like that. Maybe some green tea and orange flower as well.

My Mum's boucakes are fab aren't they, she'd never iced a cake in her life and watched one video and tried it out and it turned out she was flipping fantastic at it although she's still convinced that every one she makes is a fluke! They're large cupcake sized cakes and I get to be chief taster so that's great for me
