Cold Feet-a-thon

Cold Feet was originally on when I was in my late teens/early twenties and I watched bits of it at the time but was more of a This Life kinda girl as it reflected the stage I was at more.

I've had the complete Cold Feet box set on DVD (I know- archaic, right?) for months now in preparation for catching up ahead of season 6 only to realise that it starts a week today!!

So I've decided to try and watch all 35 episodes over the next 7 days. Totally do-able, right?! I don't return to work until next week and while I've a bit of freelance stuff on the go, it's my mission to be caught up by Monday.

Who's with me?! Grin

Iggy I hope you're not too poorly obvs but v v convenient timing- you can totally do this! Smile

I'm off out to meet a couple of girlfriends for a bite to eat and a few drinks but when I get home I've only got one episode and I'll have finish series 2. That then leaves me 3 days to watch 3 series. But I might get ahead and watch a couple of series 3 tonight just to, you know, keep up!

Thanks for the link, Maureen!

Sage Its nothing serious, just a kidney infection but I agree, what better way to spend my time in convalescence than a good old Cold Feet-athon Grin.

DP has helpfully gone off to Lidl for the snacks I've asked for. Wink

SageYourResoluteOracle · 02/09/2016 00:01

Ramona. She's just too funny!

I recorded quite a few on ITV encore about 2 years ago but it stopped abruptly, looked on ITV hub & I was up to the end of series 3, so watched 2 last night.
I hope I can catch up in time!

I didn't really get into it first time round as I was late teens, it's quite weird seeing "old" Manchester!

I hope Fay Ripley loses that crap Manc accent in the new series, really grated on me!

SageYourResoluteOracle · 02/09/2016 10:04

You can absolutely do this Misscalamity. I'm almost half way through series 3 and plan to make a serious dent this evening and tomorrow night. Has to be done by Sunday midnight for me as it looks as if ITV player is scrubbing it then.

I keep telling myself that I can catch up on freelance work... priorities, right?!

bestofbothhovis · 02/09/2016 10:08

Me and DP started watching it after my mum lent us the box set ... It's awful!

IggyPopsicle · 02/09/2016 10:09

They are also available on Amazon video, for about £8 a series or £1.89 an episode if you want to splash out on a download after ITV takes them down.

Diamogs · 02/09/2016 10:10

I've been joining you - having made great sacrifices I am now on Series 3 Episode 4 Grin

lucjam2105 · 02/09/2016 16:59

I only made the decision to start watching them today, why did I leave it so late!!!!???? I'm on Series 1 episode 4....

SageYourResoluteOracle · 02/09/2016 21:52

Settle down, Bestof, settle down. Don't be besmirching my thread with this nonsense!!Grin

Iggy I'm trying to spend as little as possible on my mission but it's good to know that I've got Amazon to fall back on!

Just watched the episodes where Adam and Rachael go through IVF- struck a chord Hmm

I'm. So. Tired.

But I've finished series 3. Huzzah! And I still love it.

Series 4 tomorrow and 5 on Sunday, right?

Irony is that I'm away for work on Monday and won't be able to watch the first episode of the new series. Guess that'll be Tuesday night's entertainment.

How's everyone else doing?

OP posts:
IggyPopsicle · 03/09/2016 02:16

I have just started series 4, which I am pretty impressed with considering I had forgotten that each episode is an hour long Shock

Perfectlypurple · 03/09/2016 06:05

I have started watching this. I am on series 2 at the moment. I'm just glad there are only 6 episodes a series. I did watch it first time round but can't remember any of it. It is a bit dire at times but I am enjoying it. I won't get it all watched before Monday so will have to record it and catch up.

MissCalamity · 03/09/2016 12:51

Up to series 4, ep 6. Can't remember Adam having cancer, unless for some reason it skipped when I was recording it on ITV encore. Not got time to go back now...!
DD due for a nap soon, so may be able to get ep 6 done.
John Thomson has tickled me in this series, the clip in the car with Cantona the dog farting had me (and DS) in hysterics! 😜

SageYourResoluteOracle · 03/09/2016 19:48

Miss- respect- you're doing v v well!

We've got two extra children sleeping here tonight, the youngest is only two so there's not been any time since they arrived to watch anything. Feel shaky & sweaty... more Cold Turkey than Cold Feet! Grin

All 3 are in bed now though so it's time I fired the box up again!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/09/2016 20:10

S4 now.

Jennies accent gets less and less in each series

As does Adams hairline 😂😂😂

SageYourResoluteOracle · 03/09/2016 21:19

I know- Jenny's becoming more and more RP!

I'm finding series 4 really moving- DH and I are in the early stages of the adoption process... It's all a bit close to home!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 03/09/2016 22:01

The ivf was too me tho surprised they didn't make ADAM wear scrubs when doing transfer - we had to

lucjam2105 · 03/09/2016 22:20

Jenny's voice grates on me and I'm northern! Series 2, almost at the end. 3 series to watch tomorrow then, and I need to make DS bday cake.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/09/2016 21:19

Finished 4

Now on s5

Won't be able to watch them all by tomorrow eve

Tho also won't be watching Tom. Eve as at work

Watching all in a row as well as Jennies awful dissappeering accent. And Adams hair line

Also noticed karen has lost a lot of weight

Had boobs in early series

Now has no boobs and can see collar /throat/bones on top of chest :(

Too skinny :(

SageYourResoluteOracle · 04/09/2016 22:02

Yup- Karen is scrawny not horny!

I'm on the penultimate ep of series 4 and think I'll finish the series tonight.

I'll just have to buy series 5 from Amazon video and watch over the week. Day off on Wednesday and DDs back at school so I know exactly what I'll do that day!

Do this many people have affairs in real life? Or am I just naive?

I've just finished Series 5 Episode 1. Have downloaded 2, 3 and 4 so will hopefully watch tomorrow.

I'm quite depressed about the amount of affairs. Don't remember that from watching last time.

childmaintenanceserviceinquiry · 04/09/2016 22:49

so what am I doing wrong? I looked on sky catch up and I have to pay for sky box sets to see any old cold feet. Is itv hub free?
