before my phone decides to give up altogether, here's a new thread to get us on our way.

Andy Murray still in the Olympic Singles, as is Rafa,

Jo Konta through for the women.

Lots of missing names from the top players- but we are edging towards the US open- without Federer- and who knows, maybe even without Djokovic.

Could we be heading for all change at the top?

Delpo through too! Sadly, he faces Rafa in the semis, I think.

Really want Monfils to beat Nishikori- and hopefully then beat Murray I imagine Gael loves the noise and the atmosphere, and won't get as narky as Murray. And Nish bores me.

Just watching a segment with Michael Johnson. I have loved him for years. I could listen to him all day. Always baffled me why one of the USA's best athletes always commentates for us- but I'm very glad he does!

Andy and Heather just lost.

Rafa and Marc Lopez just starting their doubles match.

VAMOS Nadal and Lopez. I was reading earlier that Rafa was so pleased to get this far, not for him, but for Lopez (so he would win a medal). He's played doubles with Marc a number of times, they are great friends- must mean a lot to have got this far.

I am so pleased for Rafa getting to the Olympics meant such a lot, and it's great for Marc too.

I'm very torn by the Delpo/Rafa match.

I've decided so long as one of them gets the gold, I don't mind. Although I would really love Rafa to do the double.

Raah, that's how I feel. They both deserve gold.

Looking forward to a day of tennis.

just realised I didn't know Heather was playing with Andy. nevertheless they lost.

Pity, but i love Bupanna so not too gutted India won.

Whoop! Vamos Rafa. I would also love Delpo to win. Which is tricky.

Shame for Juan that here are no ranking points available this time, it would have put him right back up in the top 80 or so, just by getting to the final. in fact even just getting this far, he would have been just outside the top 100. Which is great considering how little he has been able to play.

Just back from being out all day. This is nail biting stuff. Excellent play from both, from the little I've seen. 4/4 all 3rd set.

It is creme. Murray had a fairly easy time of it against a pretty dub-par NIshikori. This is making me nervous . Still, Rafa has 2 gold medals now, (Beijing singles, Rio doubles) maybe he can let Juan have one?

I'm too nervous to watch, and keep turning over to the cyclists . I have no idea what is going on in the keirin (sp?) but it looks brutal!
